The Developer Infrastructure organization at Dropbox builds and maintains the core systems that enable engineers to ship innovative features and services to millions of users worldwide.
Within this org, the Repo Rangers team has a focused mission: to accelerate software development and strengthen security and compliance in Dropbox’s rServer monorepo.
We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join the Repo Rangers team. In this role, you’ll make foundational investments in the libraries, packages, and tooling that support Dropbox’s two primary languages: Python and Go. You’ll help bring in cutting-edge tools, establish best practices, and provide hands-on guidance to platform and product teams across the company. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role at the heart of our engineering systems. Responsibilities
Advance the Python and Go ecosystems within Dropbox’s monorepo
Design, build, and maintain SDKs, libraries, and runtimes for Python and Go
Develop tooling to integrate and update third-party language libraries in the monorepo
Periodically upgrade and maintain foundational first- and third-party libraries
Enhance developer experience through improved debugging, IDE integration, linters, and static analysis tools
Improve documentation and best practices to support Python and Go developer workflows
Promote adoption of modern profiling and performance optimization techniques
Collaborate closely with engineers across Build Toolchains, Services Platform, and infrastructure teams
Provide business hours support for language-related issues, toolchains, and library upgrades
On-call work may be necessary occasionally to help address bugs, outages, or other operational issues, with the goal of maintaining a stable and high-quality experience for our customers.
Requirements
4+ years of professional software development experience
Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field (e.g., Physics or Mathematics), or equivalent practical experience
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of incorporating feedback and partnering effectively with engineers
Demonstrated ability to define and deliver well-scoped projects and milestones
Comfort working independently to solve complex, ambiguous problems and design the right solutions
Preferred Qualifications
Proficiency in programming and debugging across multiple languages such as Python, Go, C/C++, or Java
4+ years of software development experience in Python
2+ years of experience writing and maintaining Python libraries
2+ years of experience developing in C/C++ or Go
Experience designing and building internal tools, libraries, compilers, or build systems (e.g., Bazel) in large engineering environment
Compensation
Dropbox applies increased tax deductible costs to remuneration earned by certain qualifying employees (to the extent an employee will be involved in the creation of the software as an “author”) for the transfer of copyrights, in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Personal Income Tax Act.
Poland Pay Range
200 600 zł—271 400 zł PLN
