Job Description
Overview:
Direct hire, full time job. This is NOT a temp to perm job. Seeking mid to senior level Mainframe Programmers and Administrators. There are a total of 4 new openings for a newly won, 5 year gov't contract. Location is in Mechanicsburg, PA. Pay range from $90,000 to $100,000 a year salary with full benefits, but would depend on experience. Must have interim Secret clearance or higher. Possible 2 days telecommute up to 100% remote work, but will be on a case by case basis. $7000 relocation allowance possible.
Overview of Client:
DISA is a key organization in the Department of Defense's (DoD's) convergence to a standard operating environment (SOE) for IBM Mainframe z/OS, z/VM operating systems running z/Linux, as well as for the daily operation of mission critical DoD automated applications systems. We provide information technology (IT) technical support services in support of DISA SEL141 and DECC MECH resulting in assistance with installation, testing, customization, implementation, application and technical support, and integration of new releases and upgraded software versions. This support will provide monitoring assistance and enhancement of the IBM Mainframe z/OS and z/VM operating systems, storage, hardware configuration, performance management, network system software/programming technical services, and release management technical support for DISA SEL141 and DECC MECH-managed Mainframe tape and disk storage environments.
Responsibilities:
The candidate shall: assist with installing, testing and analyzing new releases, patches, bug fixes, and upgraded versions of COTS software products in an IBM z/OS environment that is utilized by the DISA DECCs; analyze and execute product changes in test and production environments; analyze performance impacts of new software releases, including resource monitoring; analyze and ensure system security in maintained in new releases of patches and COTS software releases; provide support during problem analysis and resolution if issues are found with new software releases prior to release to production. New release/version analysis shall be performed outside of the production environment on a stand-alone z/OS test system before deployment to production environments. Additionally, the candidate shall provide application support, as needed, to ensure product maintenance windows are executed as planned and is up-to-date; performing system clean up and system migrations ensuring completion in a timely manner; and conducting impact analysis, technical reviews and application program reviews.
Qualifications:
- SECURITY CLEARANCE: must be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance.
- Must be able to show 5 years of mainframe experience;
