Overview
This Global Senior Tax Manager is responsible for the Company’s global tax compliance, tax planning, indirect tax and accounting for income taxes. The successful candidate will work with finance, leadership teams, outside service providers and other tax professionals to identify opportunities for process improvement and potential areas of risk. The candidate will ensure compliance with state federal and international tax law as well as design, document and execute policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and timeliness. The role will begin as an independent contributor who manages the work with outside service providers. The candidate will design the internal tax function by determining the most practical and efficient use of internal and external resources.
Responsibilities
Facilitate and manage external tax consultants to ensure compliance with federal, state, and international tax requirements, including VAT/GST, and other indirect taxes.
Oversee all domestic and international tax provisioning to satisfy tax and GAAP requirements.
Assist with developing quarterly/yearly tax projections.
Ensure compliance with all sales & use tax laws for filing tax returns.
Support planning and implementation of transfer-pricing policies and cross-border intercompany agreements
Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement in company tax procedures.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to develop and implement strategic tax planning for all domestic and foreign locations.
Maintain effective control procedures over all aspects of the global tax function.
Provide support with audits and special tax related projects.
Assist with potential mergers, acquisitions, and post- acquisition integration transactions.
Managing tax attributes to support cross-border tax reorganization and cash repatriation transactions, including planning to maximize foreign tax credit utilization.
Gather data and model to understand various U.S. international tax implications on global cash repatriation efforts and significant cross-border transactions.
Review U.S. federal income tax returns, including capturing the expected U.S. tax consequences and elections and disclosures, prepared by external tax advisors.
Provide strategic direction for resolution of global tax controversy by reviewing and responding to Information Document Requests (IDRs
Identify and assist in process improvement, including streamlining and automation of recurring calculations.
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of experience with U.S. and international tax compliance
A bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, including Master’s in Taxation, CPA a plus.
Solid understanding of Software industry and Specific tax rules governing SAAS
Prior work with Private Equity backed companies and strategic growth model.
Prior knowledge of Net Suite ERP plus
A solid understanding of US and non-US indirect tax rules (SALT, VAT & GST)
Strong Excel, Word and Outlook experience
Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills
Excellent written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks.
Ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively with stakeholders and drive process improvements.
