We’re the largest fintech company in Canada, with over 4 million users who trust us with more than $70 billion in assets.

Our teams ship often and make an impact with groundbreaking ideas. We're looking for talented people who keep it simple and value collaboration and humility as we continue to create inclusive and high-performing teams where people can be inspired to do their best work.

About the People Operations Team

About the Employee Relations, Associate

  • Legal & Compliance Partnership: Collaborating closely with Legal Counsel, Employment on routine and complex employee relations matters including terminations, leaves and accommodations, immigration, workplace investigations, and employment litigation matters. You will assist in the preparation of termination documentation, settlement agreements, contracts, employee correspondence, and other documentation and correspondence, ensuring legal compliance.

  • Policy Development & Implementation: Contributing to the development, review, and implementation of employee relations policies and procedures, ensuring they are clear, compliant, and reflective of Wealthsimple’s values. You'll also identify opportunities to simplify, improve, and scale existing processes related to employee relations matters.

  • Project Work & Scaling Function: Taking the lead or supporting exciting project work aimed at scaling our employee relations function. This includes creating self-service resources for employees, automating current processes and practices, and exploring how AI can enhance our efficiency and effectiveness in managing employee relations. You will also analyze trends in employee relations cases to identify opportunities and propose proactive solutions to improve processes and the overall employee experience.

What you’ll bring

  • Active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.

  • A demonstrated interest and foundational knowledge in employment law.
