How You’ll Have an Impact at Paula’s Choice: As the editorial content director, you will define how the Paula’s Choice brand story is told, shaping impactful narratives across all channels—campaigns, advertising, site, social , and PR. You will also oversee the Beautypedia editorial team, ensuring our ingredient and product reviews maintain the highest standards of objectivity, clarity, and credibility. This role requires a strong on-camera presence to bring editorial storytelling to life across digital platforms. Whether it’s leading educational content, participating in expert-driven discussions, or engaging with influencers, you’ll be a visible authority in the skincare space.
You will own the Paula’s Choice omni-channel content calendar, drive the development of brand themes, create compelling content that resonates with customers, and ensure Paula’s Choice maintains its leadership in ingredient science and skincare education. Working cross-functionally with Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, and Global teams, you’ll own the storytelling strategy and execution across all consumer touchpoints.
How Editorial Works with Teams:
Own the brand content calendar: • Develop brand themes for PC to tell all-new, impactful stories across all channels — campaigns, advertising, social, editorial, PR & thought leadership Product Launches: • Editorial contributes to campaign ideation and responds with a storytelling strategy and calendar. Evergreen, Daily Storytelling: • Editorial leads weekly editorial meetings to define the brand content calendar. • Editorial jumps on daily topical opportunities, syncing with Social & PR to ensure alignment. • Editorial briefs Social & PR on key stories while also supporting their content needs. • Brand Marketing attends meetings to ensure cohesion across all channels. Beautypedia & Scientific Editorial Oversight: • Lead and mentor the Beautypedia editorial team, ensuring accuracy, objectivity, and authority in ingredient and product reviews. • Maintain and evolve Beautypedia’s voice and credibility, making it a go-to skincare resource. • Ensure brand transparency and scientific accuracy in all editorial content. Supporting Channels & Markets: • Define content series and distribute across key channels (e.g., weekly email series, content modules, site content). • Partner with global teams through monthly content syncs to ensure consistency across markets.
What you’ll bring to the table: • Ability to craft and execute a long-term brand storytelling strategy, reinforcing Paula’s Choice as a trusted skincare leader. • Expertise in leading editorial and scientific content teams, including oversight of the Beautypedia editorial team and the scientific advisory board. • Strong editorial judgment, with the ability to translate complex skincare science into accessible, engaging content. • Experience on camera, with confidence in leading educational videos, brand storytelling, and expert-driven content. • Ability to develop brand themes that drive all-new, impactful storytelling across campaigns, social, PR, and editorial. • Strong content planning skills—balancing long-term editorial calendars with agility for topical, real-time content. • Deep understanding of how storytelling integrates with social, email, site content, PR, and advertising. • Experience developing content series (e.g., weekly email series, evergreen site content, educational modules). • Cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with creative and social. • Ability to analyze content performance and optimize based on insights.
What can help you really stand out: • 10+ years of editorial experience in beauty, skincare, lifestyle, or related industries. • Proven track record of leading brand storytelling and content strategy for digital-first brands. • Experience overseeing scientific and ingredient-focused editorial teams. • On-camera experience, with the ability to confidently present skincare content in videos, live streams, and interviews. • Background in real-time content strategy, working across social, PR, and digital channels. • Strong experience working with brand marketing teams, product launches, and integrated campaigns. • Editorial leadership experience, including managing content teams, freelancers, and external contributors.
The Details: • Location: Remote, Open to U.S. Based Candidates. • Hours: Typical PST Business Hours • Physical requirements: Ability to handle both sitting and screen time for long periods of time • Travel requirements: Ability to work on-site at Seattle headquarters four days a week, and travel as needed (~10%)
Approximate Salary Range Based on Experience and Location:
$125,000 - $150,000 USD/annually
