BridgePhase is seeking a mid-level Drupal Developer to join our team supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The ideal candidate will have solid experience in Drupal development and the ability to independently implement complex functions while collaborating with team members. This role combines hands-on development with opportunities for technical leadership. This is a remote position. In this position, you can expect to:

  • Develop and maintain complex Drupal-based solutions

  • Create custom modules and extend existing functionality

  • Implement sophisticated content modeling

  • Design and develop custom themes using modern front-end technologies, with specific experience around theme development

  • Lead small to medium-sized development initiatives

  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback

  • Implement complex migrations and data transformations

  • Troubleshoot and resolve advanced site issues

  • Configure and optimize caching and performance

  • Contribute to technical documentation and development standards

  • Collaborate with architects on solution design

  • Implement security best practices and maintain compliance requirements

As with any technical environment, the exact role responsibilities will evolve with the changing needs of our client. We are looking for versatile candidates who thrive on new challenges and can readily adapt to additional responsibilities beyond those listed above. Preferred Experience and Qualifications:

  • At least 6 years of total professional experience with 3-5 years of experience with Drupal development

  • Strong expertise in supporting technologies including:

    • PHP development and modern practices

    • Drupal module development and integration, leveraging Drupal 10/11

    • Front-end technologies (Twig, JavaScript, CSS)

    • Site building and configuration management

    • Version control and Git workflows

    • Development environments and tools

    • Drupal best practices

    • Custom module & theme development

    • Version control, ideally leveraging Git

  • Demonstrated experience with:

    • Custom module development

    • Complex content modeling

    • API integration and development

    • Performance optimization

    • Automated testing

    • Deployment processes

    • Security best practices

    • Contributed Drupal modules and common PHP packages

    • Search & Drupal Migration APIs

    • Automated testing with Drupal

  • Working knowledge of:

    • Composer dependency management

    • Docker containers

    • CI/CD pipelines

    • Database optimization

    • Caching strategies

    • Content migrations

  • Familiarity with:

    • Government security requirements

    • Agile development practices

    • Technical documentation

    • Mentoring and code review

  • Experience with government security requirements (FedRAMP, FISMA) preferred
