Why this role matters:

We’re looking for a Director of Social Media to lead and manage the social media function and ensure its overall success and effectiveness. This role is responsible for defining and executing a strategy for social media at Vonage including aligning overall goals and objectives, creating and managing operational processes, managing and delivering a social calendar, identifying and measuring key metrics, and managing the team to deliver on these roles.

Your key responsibilities:

Strategy and Planning 

  • Work with marketing leadership to define overall goals, objectives, and KPIs for social media 

  • Define and gain consensus on overall social media strategy aligned to goals and objectives

  • Prioritize social media channels and create specific presence and posting strategies for priority channels - including LinkedIn, X, YouTube. Instagram

Message Development 

  • Work with brand and editorial team to refine existing content and create new content optimized for social media delivery 

Operations 

  • Create and manage social media calendar in collaboration with key stakeholders such as corporate communications, brand, events, and business units 

  • Create and manage crisis communications processes for social media in conjunction with overall crisis management processes for company 

  • Manage day-to-day operations including planning, monitoring, and measurement and develop standard operating procedures for each 

  • Manage social media team to ensure alignment of resources to needs and continuous development of team capabilities 

  • Define, manage, and optimize social media tech stack to ensure ability to manage and monitor social presence 

  • Work with marketing analytics teams to measure social media performance  

What you’ll bring:

Required:

  • Ability to manage multiple requests and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong team player with a proactive, problem-solving mindset

  • 8-10 years of experience in social media and 3+ years of leadership experience

  • Hands-on experience with a social media management system such as Sprinklr or Sprout 

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality

  • Experience managing a team of social media professionals 

  • Excellent written communication and proofreading skills

What we consider a plus:

  • Experience working with large companies

  • Experience working with Corporate Communications and Executive Communications 

Where you will work:

We are open to considering fully remote candidates located within the Eastern Time Zone of the United States.
