Position Overview:

The Director of Marketing at Vantage is a pivotal leadership role responsible for refining, scaling, and optimizing a proven marketing playbook—grounded in a clear narrative and well-defined ICP—that positions Vantage as the leading, end-to-end Retail Media Platform.

This role drives how Vantage shows up across every touchpoint from product positioning and brand storytelling to campaigns, experiences, and customer advocacy.

This opportunity isn’t about starting from scratch—it’s about taking an established team and strong foundation of early marketing success and turning it into a repeatable, data-driven growth engine.

Key Responsibilities:

Category Leadership: Partner closely with the Chief Revenue Officer and Chief Strategy Officer to amplify Vantage’s category narrative around orchestration, interoperability, and the evolution of Retail Media. Oversee analyst relations, shape conference keynotes, and drive industry conversations that position Vantage as the category leader.

Product Positioning & Messaging: Continuously improve and support the creation of compelling product messaging that resonates with various target audiences. Ensure consistent positioning across marketing materials, sales collateral, and digital channels to communicate Vantage’s value proposition effectively.

Integrated Marketing Strategy: Oversee a cohesive marketing strategy that leverages product marketing, content, and digital channels to drive brand awareness and customer engagement. Key areas of focus include:

Website and online presence: Ensure our marketing website and resources align with our positioning as we continue to expand and evolve.

Paid Media: Strategically allocate paid media spend across channels (display, search, social, and industry platforms) to amplify Vantage’s reach, targeting customer acquisition and brand building.

Content & Thought Leadership: Establish Vantage as an industry thought leader through engaging content, such as whitepapers, case studies, webinars, and blogs, highlighting Vantage’s unique solutions and industry insights.

Customer Engagement & Retention: Design and lead programs that foster client loyalty, using email marketing, social media, and personalized campaigns to reinforce brand value and enhance the customer journey.

Sales Support & GTM Collaboration: Partner with sales leadership to define and deliver marketing-sourced pipeline goals. Provide resources that drive qualified leads and accelerate deal cycles in a repeatable, scalable way.

Campaign Management & Optimization: Oversee the development and execution of multi-channel campaigns that integrate brand messaging with product initiatives. Continuously monitor and refine campaign strategies to maximize engagement and conversions, leveraging analytics to optimize performance.

Pipeline & Revenue Impact: Own marketing-sourced pipeline targets and work closely with the CRO to measure marketing’s contribution to ARR growth. Use attribution data and funnel analytics to continuously optimize for revenue impact.

Data-Driven Decision Making: Track and analyze key marketing metrics, including customer acquisition costs, engagement rates, and conversion ratios. Use these insights to inform strategies, improve campaign effectiveness, and enhance ROI.

Building a Team: Lead and manage the marketing team by recruiting top talent, mentoring team members, and fostering professional development to build a high-performing organization. Establish clear growth pathways, provide ongoing coaching and feedback, and create a collaborative culture that supports both individual career advancement and organizational expansion goals.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 10+ years in B2B Marketing, ideally in SaaS, AdTech, or MarTech.

  • Proven success scaling marketing engines from traction to category leadership.

  • Expertise in integrated marketing strategy, product positioning, and brand storytelling.

  • Strong analytical mindset; fluent in pipeline metrics, attribution, and ROI.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, shape culture, and build systems for scale.

  • Passion for storytelling, operational excellence, and transforming attention into advocacy.

  • Brand, Category & Thought Leadership: Vantage shows up with a unified, elevated brand that consistently reinforces our category leadership in Retail Media orchestration. Marketing is driving awareness and credibility through clear messaging, strong creative direction, and impactful thought leadership.

    • Success metrics:

      • Consistent adoption of brand narrative and visual identity across all marketing and GTM channels

      • 3+ positive analyst or media mentions per quarter highlighting Vantage’s leadership

      • 25%+ YoY increase in brand awareness and share of voice within the retail media ecosystem

      • Regular cadence of thought leadership campaigns and executive visibility moments (press, partner, or event-driven)

  • Integrated Marketing & Growth: Marketing functions as a connected growth engine, translating our story into measurable business impact.

    • Success metrics:

      • 30%+ YoY increase in marketing-sourced or influenced pipeline

      • Improved CAC efficiency and conversion rates across digital and paid channels

      • Marketing programs directly contributing to ARR growth and sales velocity

  • Team Leadership & Operational Excellence: The marketing team operates with focus, clarity, and accountability—executing efficiently and scaling what works.

    • Success metrics:

      • Clear team OKRs aligned to revenue goals

      • Documented playbooks, processes, and dashboards for campaign and performance tracking

      • Strong cross-functional satisfaction with marketing support (measured via internal feedback or pulse surveys)

      • High team engagement and retention through consistent coaching and development
