About the Role:

We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Director of AI to lead our AI strategy and implementation. This role is responsible for designing and executing AI initiatives that improve operational efficiency, enhance client service delivery, and unlock new business opportunities. You will work cross-functionally across go-to-market, delivery, operations, and other teams to assess how Caravel operates and implement scalable AI solutions that drive meaningful business outcomes—both internally and for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• AI Strategy & Roadmap

Develop and own the AI vision and execution roadmap for the firm.

Identify and prioritize AI/ML opportunities across departments and client engagements.

• Business Process Optimization

Analyze internal business operations (e.g., delivery, managed services, finance, HR, sales).

Implement AI tools to increase productivity, reduce manual effort, and improve decision-making.

• Client-Facing Innovation

Partner with Caravel’s consulting teams to design AI-enhanced offerings that extend our NetSuite and technology services.

Explore and prototype new client-facing AI features—such as intelligent project reporting, chatbot-driven support, and forecasting algorithms.

• Tooling & Implementation

Build or integrate AI tools leveraging LLMs, process automation, and generative AI, tailored to the needs of consulting and professional services.

Oversee the development of AI agents, copilots, and dashboards for both internal and external use.

• Change Management & Enablement

Lead AI adoption efforts through training, documentation, and the development of best practices.

Foster a culture of experimentation and continuous learning with AI.

• Governance & Risk

Establish and uphold ethical guidelines for AI use at Caravel.

Monitor AI system performance, data security, and compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and implementing AI solutions in a business or consulting environment.

• Strong knowledge of machine learning, generative AI (LLMs), NLP, and automation platforms.

• Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Proficiency in tools such as OpenAI, Azure/AWS AI/ML services, Python, or low-code AI platforms.

• Experience in ERP, consulting, or SaaS businesses (preferred).

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, or a related field.

$200,000 - $250,000 a year

The salary range provided is intended for candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area who meet the minimum requirements of the position.  Candidates who do not reside in the San Francisco Bay Area, do not meet the minimum requirements, or exceed the requirements are encouraged to apply and a recruiter will provide you with a range specific to your location and qualifications.
