The Director of Global Social Media will lead the development, execution, and optimization of the brand's global social media strategy. This role is responsible for ensuring consistent representation of the brand’s message, voice, and identity across all regions and social channels, while driving engagement, growth, and loyalty. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong blend of creativity, analytical skills, and communication expertise, coupled with a deep understanding of social media trends and tools.
As Director of Global Social Media, a typical day might include a mix of the following:
Develop Global Social Media Strategy:
Design and execute a global social media strategy that aligns with the brand's vision, values, and goals.
Develop platform-specific content strategies to maximize engagement across key social channels (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, etc.).
Work with cross-functional teams to align owned social media activities with global marketing campaigns, product launches, and other brand initiatives.
Content Creation & Management:
Lead the creation of high-quality, engaging, and on-brand content for various social media platforms, including copy, visuals, videos, and more.
Coordinate with content creators, designers, and external agencies to ensure consistent and effective content production.
Oversee the global content calendar to ensure timely execution of posts and campaigns.
Analytics & Performance Tracking:
Use social media analytics tools to measure the performance of global social media campaigns and identify insights to improve future content and strategies.
Provide monthly reports on social media KPIs, such as engagement rates, audience growth, and ROI.
Continuously optimize campaigns based on data and trends to improve reach and impact.
Brand Consistency & Global Alignment:
Ensure brand consistency across all social media platforms and regions, adapting content as needed to suit local market nuances.
Collaborate with regional teams to tailor content and strategies for local markets while maintaining a unified global brand voice.
Ensure that all social media activities comply with global brand guidelines and legal requirements.
Trendspotting & Innovation:
Stay up to date with the latest social media trends, tools, and technologies to drive innovation within the global brand’s social media presence.
Lead initiatives to experiment with new formats (e.g., AR filters, live streaming) and adapt strategies to incorporate emerging social media trends.
The Details:
Location: Flexible location, though our HQ is located in the heart of Seattle’s beautiful International District
Hours: Typical PST business hours will require some flexibility.
Physical requirements: Ability to sit for long periods and ability to manage long periods of screen time.
Travel requirements: up to 10%.
What you’ll bring to the table:
8+ years of experience in social media and strategy within a leadership role.
In-depth, knowledge and understanding of social platforms and how they can be leveraged to achieve business goals, including emerging trends in channel performance and content strategies.
College Degree in related or similar field.
Proven experience with social media content creation, influencer + ambassador programs, community management and brand communications.
Experience developing compelling social media campaigns and effective content strategies.
Experience managing and developing a team, with experience onboarding to new social media management, listening platforms and social frameworks.
Exceptional organizational skills and high level of attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including ability to lead internal and executive level meetings/presentations.
Creative problem solver.
Ability to develop solid relationships and lead with influence.
Ability to manage within a complex and fast paced environment.
A passion for skincare and beauty with a keen understanding of social media.
Approximate Salary Range Based on Experience and Location:
$155,000 - $185,000 USD/annually
