What we’re looking for
We're looking for a Data Engineering Team Lead to drive the design, delivery, and leadership of cutting-edge data platforms. You’ll lead a hybrid team of Snowflake engineers, CDP experts, architects, and data scientists, owning everything from pipeline uptime to data modeling strategy. As both a hands-on architect and a people-first leader, you’ll scale best-in-class systems, mentor top talent, and power data innovation across the business. Location: 100% remote anywhere in Spain or Poland.
Responsibilities
Team management
• Foster a high-performing, inclusive team environment with psychological safety and clear communication norms.
• Drive engagement, career growth, and retention through mentorship, development plans, and recognition programs.
• Define hiring needs, screen technical talent, and onboard effectively to scale team capacity and capability.
• Conduct regular 1:1s, goal-setting sessions, and performance reviews to develop individual contributors.
• Identify skill gaps and drive technical learning via training, certifications, and peer knowledge sharing.
• Set clear priorities, manage velocity, and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across the team.
Technical Delivery
• Own and evolve data platform infrastructure including Snowflake, CDP pipelines, and orchestration tooling.
• Lead execution of data initiatives, ensuring deadlines are met with strong project planning and risk management.
• Implement robust testing, monitoring, and validation frameworks to guarantee data quality and reliability.
• Monitor and optimize cloud data infrastructure (e.g., Snowflake usage) to stay within budget.
Data Architecture
• Architect efficient, scalable data solutions that support real-time, batch, and event-driven use cases.
• Champion data governance, including lineage tracking, access control, documentation, and compliance adherence.
• Oversee CDP data model design, event taxonomy, and ensure full integration with downstream tools.
Sales
• Support proposal creation
• Participate in pre-sales calls
• Provide thought leadership in the area of Data Engineering
Required Skills & Qualifications
• 4+ years of experience managing Data Engineering teams
• 8+ years overall experience in data engineering or related roles
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake (or similar cloud data warehouses)
• Solid understanding of Customer Data Platforms (CDPs) like Hightouch or mParticle
• Experience leading cross-functional teams (Data Engineers, Architects, Scientists)
• Deep knowledge of data architecture, modeling, and pipeline orchestration
• Proficient in Python or Scala, SQL, and data pipeline tools (e.g. Airflow, dbt)
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Familiarity with real-time data ingestion and streaming architectures
• Experience with data governance, quality, and documentation standards
• Excellent stakeholder communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to mentor, develop, and retain top engineering talent
• Comfortable working in Agile/Kanban environments
• Agency Experience
• English C1
Preferred Qualifications:
• Snowflake certification.
• Understanding of data governance and security best practices.
• Exposure to BI tools (Looker, Tableau) and ML workflows
