HOW you will contribute to the company
As a Science & Analytics Manager, you will be part of the Science & Analytics team (15+ people), inside the Data department (30+ people).
You will grow your analytics team through strategic hiring and resource allocation, while partnering with other managers to create the right environment, processes, and development opportunities for team members to thrive.
You will proactively use data to identify opportunities to grow our business or improve our processes. You will be a real sparring partner for Product leaders, feed their strategy by anticipating the most important questions, and leverage your data & statistical skills to answer them.
You will steer decision-making through complex analyses, involving uncertainty, potential synergies with other domains and collaboration with other analytical teams.
You will drive our self-service approach to analytics, by understanding our colleague’s needs in their use of data, and promoting a data driven culture. The Science & Analytics team contributes directly to creating data models in the Data Warehouse (using dbt).
You will contribute to shaping the Data Engineering roadmap to deliver the best experience for your colleagues on the data platform.
WHAT you can expect from your life at Pennylane
Within one month:
You will learn everything about our company, our teams, and our vision during the first onboarding week.
You will get to know your team and start taking over people and technical topics.
You will get familiar with our stack, and have delivered a few small projects which will give you a concrete taste of our tools & processes.
You will be given time to meet your future stakeholders, and gain a deep knowledge of our product.
Within 3 months:
You will be fully in charge of your team.
You will be fully in charge of supporting a Product area, prioritizing your tasks with decision makers from this area.
You will be confortable with our technical stack (Python, Redshift, Athena, dbt).
Within 6 months:
You will be involved in cross-team management initiatives.
You will proactively contribute to the team’s roadmap.
You will work with engineers and data practitioners on improving our stack and data platform.
You will share your learnings and best practices within the team.
And beyond: the data team will continue growing with the company
Which means:
Opportunities to recruit, mentor and manage new team members,
Increased accountability in project leadership,
Responsibilities to design and implement new processes, tools and best practices to make sure that your team works even more efficiently.

A case study interview to discuss a topic closely related to one of our priorities (75 min)
A past project interview to hear about your experience (60 min)
An interview with our Tech & Product leaders to hear about your management experience and discuss our company culture (60 min)
We make sure we move fast; you can expect the recruitment process with us to last between 15 and 25 days in total.

We're working on providing those last advantages to our people based outside of France as well, but it can be quite more complex depending on different countries.
