Job Description

Join the team redefining how the world experiences design.

Kamusta, hey, g'day, mabuhay, kia ora, 你好, hallo, สวัสดี!

Thanks for stopping by. We know job hunting can be a little time consuming and you're probably keen to find out what's on offer, so we'll get straight to the point.

Where and how you can work

Our flagship campuses are in Sydney and Melbourne, but this role is based in Thailand. We offer flexibility in how and where you work—whether that’s from home, a co-working space, or somewhere in between. We trust you to find the balance that empowers you and your team to thrive.

What you’d be doing in this role

As Canva scales, change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.

As Creative Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in Canva’s mission to democratise design by ensuring content is truly local, culturally resonant, and of the highest design quality. Partnering closely with the Country Manager and cross-functional stakeholders, this role shapes and delivers content strategies that drive user engagement, content adoption, and revenue growth in Thailand.

Aligned to Canva’s international growth strategy, this role ensures the creative direction, production, and curation of market-relevant content across templates and elements. The role bridges global vision with local market needs, ensuring cultural authenticity while meeting business objectives.

At the moment, this role is focused on:

  • Set the creative vision for Thailand—grounded in cultural insight, local relevance, and aligned with Canva’s global strategy.

  • Translate regional priorities into compelling, hyperlocal content plans and standout marketing campaigns.

  • Drive creative innovation through experimentation with formats, storytelling, and design trends.

  • Lead end-to-end content development—from templates and design kits to campaigns and creator briefs—ensuring every asset reflects local authenticity and Canva’s brand.

  • Use data, content audits, and performance insights to inform creative decisions and maximise impact.

  • Partner with the Country Manager, Marketing, SEO, and Community teams to align creative goals and amplify reach.

  • Direct local freelancers and creator communities—crafting strong briefs, providing actionable feedback, and championing creator-led storytelling.

  • Monitor the competitive landscape and creative trends to uncover fresh opportunities.

  • Champion inclusive, culturally resonant content that celebrates Thai identity and Canva’s values.

  • Report on campaign outcomes, sharing key learnings and results with cross-functional teams and leadership.

You're probably a match if

  • You’re a creative leader with 8+ years of experience, passionate about design, culturally attuned, and driven by excellence.

  • You bring an international perspective and deeply appreciate how storytelling and visual language shift across cultures.

  • You thrive on creating content that feels authentic, relevant, and respectful in every market.

  • You blend strong visual craft with strategic thinking—setting a bold creative vision while being hands-on when needed.

  • You’re curious, collaborative, and committed to empowering local users with content that feels made for them.

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.

  • You’ve led creative teams or initiatives with an international, regional, or local market focus.

  • You’ve partnered cross-functionally with teams like SEO, Growth, Marketing, and Product.

  • You communicate clearly and compellingly, with strong stakeholder engagement and storytelling skills.

  • You think strategically—balancing creative innovation with business and user goals.

  • You’ve managed freelancers or creators, with a sharp eye on quality and brand alignment.

  • You’re comfortable navigating a fast-moving environment and love testing new ideas.

Competencies for success

  • We shortlist by reviewing not just your CV but more importantly, your portfolio. Quality over quantity matters more to us - so best to show us your best and most relevant creative works – throw in those layouts, social media posts, and even branding projects!

  • You’re a hustler! You are adaptable and can work independently juggling the delivery of design projects and producing high-quality content.

  • You’re unafraid to get your hands dirty! You’re a senior designer who can give out briefs, at the same time, create high-quality designs.

About the team

Canva’s International Supergroup is responsible for driving growth and deepening adoption across our key regions worldwide. We are an entrepreneurial, cross-functional team that turns bold strategy into culturally resonant execution.

In Thailand, our mission is to empower all Thais to design and to make Canva one of the most beloved and culturally iconic brands in the country. We see an enormous opportunity to accelerate Thailand’s creative economy, uplift millions of creators, and position Thailand as a regional creative hub.

Why Join Us

You’ll play a foundational role in growing Canva’s presence in Thailand — shaping the strategy, brand, and creative impact for millions of Thai users. This is a rare opportunity to lead localization for one of the world’s fastest-growing tech companies and leave a lasting mark on Thailand’s creative economy.

Other stuff to know

We make hiring decisions based on your experience, skills and passion, as well as how you can enhance Canva and our culture. When you apply, please tell us the pronouns you use and any reasonable adjustments you may need during the interview process.

We celebrate all types of skills and backgrounds at Canva so even if you don’t feel like your skills quite match what’s listed above - we still want to hear from you!

Please note that interviews are conducted virtually.
