Contractual Academic Copyeditor (Research Journals)

We are hiring for a contractual copyediting role for a leading scientific publisher. The work involves copyediting accepted research papers and academic content while maintaining high editorial standards.

What you will do:

• Copyedit manuscripts to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency in language

• Make changes to follow the style guide of the journal

• Engage closely with academic content while maintaining high editorial standards

What we are looking for:

• Native-level English proficiency with an excellent understanding and application of language and grammar rules

• A Masters degree, PhD, or professional degree in Life Sciences or Physical Sciences

• Degrees in Environmental Science, Computer Science, Pharmacy, Zoology, Psychology, Data Science, Computer Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learningare not acceptable

• Prior experience copyediting academic/research papers or professional experience in one of the above fields

• Strong attention to detail

• Understanding of style conventions for academic research papers (e.g., UK vs US English, reference styles, standard style guides such asAMA and CSE)

• Strong sense of ownership with regard to quality and on-time delivery
