Communications Senior Associate

Location: US-based (Ideally SF or NY)

Reddit’s Communications team tells our story inside and out. We align employees through internal rhythms while also informing the public with external programs across corporate, policy and safety, consumer/product, international, social/B2B, and trade communications. As the Communications Senior Associate, you will primarily be responsible for supporting the execution of the company’s external communications strategy, including media relations, content development, and company messaging. The role works closely with senior team leaders to deliver accurate, consistent communications and support press-facing efforts.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Media Relations

• Identifying target journalists, building press lists, and securing media coverage.

• Managing and strategically updating our media relationships across teams.

Speaking Opportunities

• Managing and prioritizing requests for Reddit spokespeople at conferences and media appearances.

• Acting as the primary point of contact and negotiator with event organizers.

• Proactively advising the team on opportunities and coordinating with spokespeople to ensure alignment on goals and messaging.

Strategy Support

• Assisting in developing communication plans and ensuring alignment with overall goals.

• Keeping communication projects on track and ensuring timely delivery of assets.

Awards & Nominations Strategy

• Strategizing, leading the identification, and managing the application process for key industry awards and nominations.

Team Planning

• Independently organizing the timing and flow of major announcements.

• Leading the weekly calendar review to ensure strategic alignment across all communications initiatives.

Media Tracking and Analysis

• Leading the development and refinement of cross-functional (XFN) media reporting processes and templates.

• Analyzing media coverage of major events, announcements, and launches for strategic insights, moving beyond basic tracking.

• Conducting in-depth reviews for accuracy/corrections, assessing sentiment, noting spokesperson effectiveness, and ensuring key message pull-through is achieved and measured against established goals and metrics.

Project Management

• Leading the Weekly Comms Meeting, setting the agenda, and driving follow-up actions.

• Operating with a high degree of autonomy, bringing proposed solutions and recommendations to the Manager.

• Managing team subscriptions and resources, including the press inbox.

Internal Communications Strategy

• Sourcing and executing opportunities to elevate the communication team's work internally and externally, adding more brand value and recognition for the function.

In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including, skills, depth of work experience and relevant licenses/credentials, and may vary from the amounts listed below.

The base pay range for this position is:

$132,600—$185,600 USD
