CloudOps Engineer
🚀 The Opportunity
Join Varicent as a Cloud Operations Engineer II, where you’ll support and scale our cloud infrastructure for global clients using our Incentive Compensation Management (ICM) SaaS platform. You’ll work closely with Cloud Engineers, Support, Dev, and QA teams to deploy new features, manage incidents, and drive performance at scale.This role blends automation, hands-on cloud work, and problem-solving in a fast-moving, global team. AWS experience is highly preferred (nearly mandatory).

🧠What You Bring
2+ years in a CloudOps / DevOps role
Strong experience with AWS (Azure/IBM Cloud a plus)
Scripting/automation skills (Python, Bash, etc.)
Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/K8s), Linux/Windows servers
Knowledge of monitoring, logging, DNS, VPN, databases (SQL)
Experience managing production incidents and supporting client-facing systems
Excellent communicator, team player, and fast learner
Advanced English is required

Manage and improve cloud infrastructure and services
Automate operations to improve reliability and scale
Support deployments, releases, and service enhancements
Lead incident response and root cause analysis
Collaborate globally and adjust to rotating coverage schedules

IN THE SHORT TERM (1-3 MONTHS) YOU WILL:
Complete training on our tech stack and join a squad of cloud engineers to support, optimize and improve our production environments.
Learn our service observability and application performance monitoring stack.
Learn our customer focused service requests workflows and technologies.
IN THE MEDIUM TERM (4-6 MONTHS) YOU WILL:
Master our customer focused service requests workflows to resolution.
Continually monitor and tune application infrastructure to assure optimal performance, availability, and utilization of resources.
Work with application teams to automate application configuration changes, setup, and deployment.
IN THE LONG TERM (7 MONTHS & BEYOND) YOU WILL:
Be the subject matter expert in our core support service request workflows, document and implement enhancement ideas where applicable.
Be the subject matter expert for the new features you've built or enhancements you've implemented and propagate your knowledge throughout the team.
Participate in technical discussions and design for new projects.
Proactively identify opportunities for process change in the team, and work with stakeholders to improve operations workflows.
Join cloud ops projects working with other technical teams to deliver continuous improvements across our infrastructure and cloud services offerings.
