Netflix is one of the world's leading entertainment services, with over 300 million paid memberships in over 190 countries enjoying TV series, films and games across a wide variety of genres and languages. Members can play, pause and resume watching as much as they want, anytime, anywhere, and can change their plans at any time.

| ABOUT YOU

You are seeking a unique opportunity to architect and drive endpoint management solutions that power Netflix's dynamic work environment across all major platforms—from macOS and Windows to iOS and Android. Your skills and experience include developing endpoint solutions for Linux distros.

As a key team member, you'll contribute to the technical direction of our endpoint infrastructure, focusing on innovative automation, observability, and fleet management solutions for Linux devices. You'll build and maintain critical internal services that deliver software and configurations to our workforce devices while developing comprehensive monitoring and analytics strategies to ensure optimal device health across our entire fleet.

This role combines hands-on technical leadership with cross-functional collaboration, allowing you to design and implement solutions directly impacting Netflix's business operations. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies in endpoint management while strongly focusing on engineering quality and simplification. The position includes an on-call rotation with the team to support our global operations. If you're passionate about creating scalable endpoint solutions and driving technical innovation in a fast-paced environment, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact at Netflix.

| RESPONSIBILITIES

  • As part of the NCSE team, you will share responsibility for and ownership of Netflix's endpoint management, which shapes the daily computing experience of the global Netflix workforce.

  • You will set technical direction and provide perspective on the infrastructure and tools while striving for engineering alignment and quality and reducing complexity and dependencies.

  • You will be working on designing and implementing technology infrastructure for client devices (macOS, Windows, Linux, ChromeOS, iOS, and Android), including automation and tooling, with a focus on endpoint management and observability.

  • You will be involved in developing and maintaining endpoint observability strategies, including monitoring, logging, and analytics, to ensure that we have a complete picture of device health and management across the entire fleet.

  • You will automate and manage data collection jobs and create reporting on endpoint fleet observability to drive efficiency and insights for cross-functional teams.

  • You’ll help maintain and document services built internally by the NCSE team that help provide software and configuration to workforce devices.

  • You’ll occasionally design, build, and maintain new NCSE services that serve endpoint-related business needs.

  • You’ll serve on a one-week on-call rotation with other NCSE team members, during which you will be responsible for answering operational requests within business hours and available for (infrequent) emergency pages after hours.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in endpoint management and observability.

| WE VALUE

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions

  • Passion for engineering principles and developing tools and applications for impact with high quality

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment with shifting needs while clearly articulating priorities and critical outcomes to your team

  • Demonstrated sound judgment by taking a strategic approach to solving technical problems with a holistic view of the business impact

  • Role model for inclusion, ensuring all voices are heard and facilitating the emergence of the best ideas

  • Ability to foster psychological safety and hold colleagues across the sub-function to the same standard

| SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Expertise managing a fleet of devices, specifically Linux, macOS, Windows, ChromeOS, iOS, and Android

  • Expertise with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef

  • Experience building internal products and services for other engineers as part of a client systems engineering team

  • Strong observability and data background with proven experience with data pipelines for telemetry data, including shipping, ingestions, transport, retention, and availability of data sources

  • Experience utilizing APIs for automation of work and service integrations

  • Experience as an MDM subject matter expert in collaboration with cross-functional teams

  • Ability to deliver engineering solutions, with quality testing and roll-out plans, seamlessly to a global workforce

  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication to a variety of audiences, both technical and non-technical

  • Strong knowledge of general-purpose programming languages, including but not limited to Ruby, Python, Swift, or Go

  • Knowledge of DevOps principles and methodologies and experience with CI/CD to iterate and ship improvements to a codebase

  • Ability to create and maintain comprehensive written documentation of technical implementations and business impact of engineering solutions

  • Exposure to directory services and cloud identity providers (Okta, Google, Azure AD/Entra ID)

  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation

  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and cloud technologies
