This position is needed to ensure our systems, processes, and teams operate efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with regulatory standards. The Billing Operations Manager is an individual contributor that will serve as a subject matter expert and trusted partner, bridging the gap between operational execution and technical solutions. They will drive process improvements, support SOX compliance activities, deliver end-user training, and document clear SOPs to promote consistency and scalability.

Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
Develop and deliver end-user training for billing systems, tools, and processes to ensure consistent and compliant execution
Create, maintain, and update Standard Operating Procesures (SOP) and process documentation for the billing operations team
Serve as a liaison between Billing operations and cross-functional project teams, ensuring operational requirements are understood and incorporated
Identify, recommend, and help implement automation opportunities to streamline manual processes in the order to cash workflow
Support some aspects of SOX-compliant month-end reconciliations over billing and provisioning, ensuring completeness and accuracy
Coordinate across time zones with colleagues in India, Ireland, Mexico City, and the U.S. to ensure global coverage support

*Required:
3-5+ years of experience in billing operations or order-to-cash functions
Hands-on experience with Zuora and Salesforce, strong understanding of their integration points
Experience delivering SOPs or process documentation
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and manipulate large data sets
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex operational and system issues independently
Excellent communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong organizational skills with the ability to to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment
Desired:
Experience working in the SaaS/technology industry
Knowledge of SOX controls and compliance requirements
Experience with automation tools, APIs, or integrations to improve financial processes
Familiarity with revenue recognition systems such as Zuora Revenue, Oracle RMCS, or NetSuite Revenue Recognition
Experience supporting large-scale system or process transitions
Location
This role will be remote, but is not eligible to be hired in CA, CT, NJ, NY, PA, WA.
Travel

*Please note this role is open to candidates outside of California, Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Washington D.C., and Washington State. The information below is provided for candidates hired in those locations only.
The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:
Based in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont or Washington D.C. : $86,100 - $107,600.
Based in New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $91,100 - $113,900.
Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $101,200 - $126,500.
This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity plan and corporate bonus plan. All roles are generally eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location.
