Associate Technical Director, Build & Automation - Monopoly GO!
Scopely is looking for an Associate Technical Director, Build and Automation to join our Monopoly GO! game team working on a hybrid basis out of our Barcelona studio hub, or remotely from within the Spain.

Lead the strategic vision, architectural design, and technical direction for build systems, release automation, and CI/CD infrastructure, ensuring they scale effectively with the needs of a high-growth, live mobile game
Act as the technical owner of the studio’s automation and release platforms, shaping the roadmap, driving key initiatives, and aligning engineering investments with business impact
Manage and mentor a global team of build and release engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, high performance, and continuous improvement while guiding career growth and technical
developmentCollaborate cross-functionally with engineering, QA, production, and operations teams to define and optimize build and deployment workflows, ensuring fast, stable, and secure releases
Define, maintain, and evolve tooling and pipelines for Unity-based development, supporting rapid iteration, large-scale testing, and streamlined developer workflows across multiple platforms
Drive improvements in build reliability, performance, and cost-efficiency through continuous analysis and refinement of CI/CD processes
Champion technical excellence, automation best practices, and long-term system health, serving as a key technical voice in studio-wide engineering discussions and decision-making
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in a technical leadership role focused on infrastructure, build engineering, or developer tooling within a high-scale production environment
Strong background in CI/CD systems and practices, with hands-on experience using tools such as GitHub Actions, Bamboo, TeamCity, or similar
Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure and deployment environments, with experience in AWS, Google Cloud, or equivalent platforms
Proficient in C# with strong programming fundamentals and a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability
Experience with Unity and familiarity with build challenges specific to Unity-based development
Comfortable working in and improving release processes for live service mobile games, including version control, branching strategies, and automated deployment pipelines
Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools like DataDog, Kibana, New Relic, and Bugsnag
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and manage engineers while driving complex cross-functional initiatives
Passion for games and a commitment to delivering excellent player experiences
