About the job
This position is needed to provide technical leadership and architectural guidance to the AI/ML team resident in India. This team is responsible for implementing customer facing capabilities and internal systems that use machine learning to generate revenue and protect the service. The existing team has driven material outcomes for the firm, and we are looking to deepen that investment.
In addition to technical responsibilities, this role will be responsible for charting the future of Twilio’s global machine learning teams and infrastructure. A successful candidate will serve as a center of knowledge for teams across the company, and have exposure to a wide range of ongoing use-cases and projects.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
● ML Strategy Development: Craft and execute a comprehensive strategy for machine learning initiatives that align with Twilio’s overall objectives.
● Architecture & Design: Lead the design of scalable, efficient ML systems that integrate seamlessly with Twilio’s communication platform.
● Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with teams across data engineering, software development, and product management to incorporate ML models into existing services.
● Innovation & Leadership: Drive innovation by exploring new technologies and methodologies, setting best practices for the company.
● Model Lifecycle Management: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of ML models, including development, deployment, monitoring, and refinement.
● Mentorship & Training: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
● Quality Assurance: Ensure the reliability and accuracy of ML models through rigorous testing and validation processes.

*Required:
● Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
● Experience: Minimum of 7 years in machine learning, with at least 3 years in a leadership or architect role.
● Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Python, and experience with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn. Cloud Services: Deep understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, especially in deploying and scaling ML models.
● Modern ML Platforms: Proficient in the design and implementation of ML supporting infrastructure for training, serving, and monitoring applications.
● Analytical Skills: Proven ability to solve complex problems and develop data-driven solutions.
● Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
● Team Collaboration: Experience working collaboratively within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
