Insight Enterprise seeks an experienced Application Architect to oversee and guide our Agent Builder Factory, a suite of agile pods dedicated to driving AI transformation across our lines of business. In this pivotal role, you'll be the technical visionary responsible for designing and maintaining the architectural framework that underpins our AI initiatives. You will advise, mentor, and collaborate with multiple agile teams and platform engineers to ensure consistency, scalability, and security across all solutions. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of AI at Insight Enterprise and make a significant impact on our business operations. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Architectural Design & Strategy: Develop and maintain the architectural blueprint for the Agent Builder Factory. This includes defining the standards, best practices, and patterns for building and deploying AI agents and applications. 

  • Technical Leadership: Act as the go-to architectural expert for the agile pods. You will guide teams in making sound technical decisions, ensuring their solutions align with the overall enterprise architecture and strategic vision. 

  • Infrastructure Oversight: Partner closely with platform engineers to design and implement robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure. You will champion the use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to automate provisioning, enforce governance, and maintain consistency across all environments. 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, data scientists, engineers, cybersecurity and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. You'll ensure that the technology stack is robust, scalable, and meets the needs of various lines of business. 

  • Governance & Oversight: Implement and enforce architectural governance policies. You'll conduct design reviews, audits, and provide continuous feedback to ensure code quality, security, and performance standards are met. 

  • Technology Evaluation: Stay current with emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and tools. You'll be responsible for evaluating new technologies and making recommendations for their adoption to keep the Agent Builder Factory at the forefront of innovation. 

  • Mentorship & Training: Provide technical mentorship to engineers and developers within the agile pods. You'll foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning, helping to build a highly skilled and knowledgeable team. 

  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in software development with at least 3 years in an application or enterprise architecture role, specifically with a focus on AI, machine learning, or data-intensive applications. 

  • Technical Skills: Deep expertise in cloud-native architectures and a strong understanding of AI/ML lifecycle management and MLOps principles. 

  • Core Technologies: 

  • Cloud: Extensive experience with Azure and GCP. 

  • Data: Expertise with data lakehouse architectures, specifically Databricks. 

  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Hands-on experience with tools like Terraform, Azure Bicep, or Pulumi. 

  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in Java and Python is essential. 

  • Familiarity with React for front-end development is a plus. 

  • Leadership & Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and lead technical teams without direct authority. Proven ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. 

  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset. You should be able to anticipate challenges and develop proactive solutions. 

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
