In this role, you’ll identify, define, and roll out product development best practices for consistency and efficiency across Planet teams. You’ll also lead efforts critical to our core platform roadmap, shepherding programs through the product lifecycle from development through launch. You’re a critical piece of enabling Planet to operate at scale.

Impact You’ll Own:

  • Serve as the overall accountable owner of Planet’s largest, complex efforts focused on core platform development, leading teams to execute

  • Scope program requirements; establish and maintain project schedules, requirements, metrics, and KPIs; identify risks and proactively mitigate them; keep stakeholders aligned on priorities

  • Communicate with technical and non-technical teams, and up through leadership and executives

  • Own release planning for product launches spanning cross-functional teams (e.g. product, software, marketing, legal), aligning stakeholders to common principles and best practices for consistency and efficiency

  • Own and shepherd change management across multiple teams for new process and ways of working

  • Identify, design, enable, and maintain product development operations processes, training, and artifacts

  • Enable value from and maintain tools (e.g. Jira) to support operations, metrics, and reporting

What You Bring:

  • 6+ years of Technical Program Management or Product Management experience for cross-functional projects in a SAAS or B2B organization

  • Experience with product and software development methodologies (e.g. Agile) and project management tools like Jira in a cross-functional organization

  • Equally comfortable and confident explaining your analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing technical trade-offs with engineers

  • Experience with organizational change management, listening to your audience and meeting their current state with a plan for incremental change

  • Experience with defining and/or operating release processes across product management, software development, and go-to-market teams

  • A growth mindset and a desire to learn quickly

What Makes You Stand Out:

  • Balancing the tactical day-to-day with forward-looking improvements to scale operational efficiencies

  • Curiosity and interest in new ways of working, methodologies, and tools

  • Experience with cross-continental team coordination and management (e.g., time zone accommodations, cultural differences between locations)

  • Experience in cloud computing, platform development and integrations, APIs, Analytics, UX, and derived data products

Benefits While Working at Planet:

  • Comprehensive Health Plan

  • Wellness program and onsite massages in specific offices

  • Flexible Time Off

  • Recognition Programs
