VP Corporate Controller
Position Overview
The Vice President Corporate Controller will own the global accounting function and scale it with the Company. You will be the key driver and enabler in the development of people, processes, and technology, ensuring data is readily available for management decision-making, legal compliance, management, and external reporting. You will have extensive experience in a fast-growth software environment, have built organizations to scale for rapid growth, and have a history of experience that includes time in public and private firms. You will be responsible for global accounting operations, including revenue accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll, tax, GAAP and covenant compliance, technical accounting, management of external audits, internal controls, and equity accounting. Additionally, this individual will leverage automation to optimize accounting operations, streamline workflows, and enhance decision-making capabilities.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and career development for team
Establish strong business partnerships with cross-functional teams and be seen as the Company’s technical expert in accounting matters
Manage all monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities and the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with GAAP and our covenant reporting requirements
Oversee annual audit processes, quarterly reviews, and preparation of audited financials
Lead and develop accounting processes, billing systems, and controls for expansion into new markets/products
Ensure global accounting activities and reporting align with legal, regulatory, and Company procedures
Support key Company initiatives involving accounting matters, including strategic transactions and M&A activity and close partnership with FP&A teams
Drive enhancements in ERP/NetSuite and other integrated systems of record
Manage outsourced providers for global accounting, payroll, valuation, tax and statutory services
Qualifications
10+ years of relevant experience required, including 5+ years in an accounting leadership capacity (prefer experience with annual revenue $200M or greater)
Advanced revenue recognition and operations experience with software subscription; both SaaS and on-premises delivery models
Public accounting experience with a Big 4 or large national firm
CPA required
Deep technical GAAP expertise, with experience in the technology industry and M&A
Proven track record of operating scalable accounting functions with a process orientation
Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally to accomplish complex projects
Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team of accounting professionals to enhance processes, and develop technical capabilities
Ability to build and sustain excellent relationships at multiple levels internally and with partners
Uncompromising integrity and transparency in dealing with employees, the board of directors, external auditors, customers, prospects, and investors
Experience managing ERP systems (NetSuite), HRIS (Rippling), and CRM/Salesforce required
