Although we're headquartered in San Francisco, we have presence throughout South America, Europe, Asia and Australia. At Twilio, we support diversity, equity & inclusion wherever we do business. We employ thousands of Twilions worldwide, and we're looking for more builders, creators, and visionaries to help fuel our growth momentum.

About the job

This position will lead the Communications Finance team, overseeing the financial forecasting, analysis and reporting for the business unit. The role will report into the CFO of Twilio and will be the primary finance contact for the President of Twilio Communications and will sit on his staff. This person will be responsible for managing and driving all aspects of the business unit’s financial functions, operations, and processes. This person will be the senior-most finance person in the Communications business.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll:

  • Be the primary finance partner to the President of Communications, CRO, SVP of Engineering, and the entire Communications executive team.

  • Lead the Commercial Finance and Product Finance teams, providing holistic financial partnership to the Communications business unit.

  • Translate financial results into operational recommendations to improve and accelerate the business.

  • Proactively partner with Corporate FP&A and Controllership on all Communications-related financial items, including preparation for quarterly earnings.

  • Manage, develop and grow a global, remote-first team.

Qualifications

Not all applicants will have skills that match a job description exactly. Twilio values diverse experiences in other industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. While having “desired” qualifications make for a strong candidate, we encourage applicants with alternative experiences to also apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!

Required:

  • 15+ years of progressive Finance experience in a technology company, with experience owning all financial functions and processes, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis.

  • Proven ability to build trust and influence decision making at the executive level by providing timely, proactive, and actionable insights. Track record of being a strategic advisor to executives.

  • Outstanding conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly build in-depth knowledge of data hierarchies and financial systems; proficient and willing to troubleshoot and solve problems. Detail oriented, but able to zoom out and see the bigger picture.

  • Experience working cross-functionally, comfortable partnering across Product and Go-to-Market teams.

  • Experience operating in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Ability to adapt quickly to changes in strategy.

  • Independent thinker, doesn’t settle, strives for excellence, and fosters an environment of continuous learning and collaboration

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to break down complex financial topics to non-financial audiences.

  • Demonstrated track record of building, motivating, and developing high performing teams.
