About the job
This position will lead the Communications Finance team, overseeing the financial forecasting, analysis and reporting for the business unit. The role will report into the CFO of Twilio and will be the primary finance contact for the President of Twilio Communications and will sit on his staff. This person will be responsible for managing and driving all aspects of the business unit’s financial functions, operations, and processes. This person will be the senior-most finance person in the Communications business.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
Be the primary finance partner to the President of Communications, CRO, SVP of Engineering, and the entire Communications executive team.
Lead the Commercial Finance and Product Finance teams, providing holistic financial partnership to the Communications business unit.
Translate financial results into operational recommendations to improve and accelerate the business.
Deliver financial metrics and insights accurately and proactively to facilitate decision-making and influence outcomes.
Oversee FP&A functions and processes including financial modeling on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
Lead the Communications’ budgeting process, partnering closely with the operating leaders to manage budgets, oversee investment decisions, and drive growth and productivity.
Proactively partner with Corporate FP&A and Controllership on all Communications-related financial items, including preparation for quarterly earnings.
Manage, develop and grow a global, remote-first team.

Required:
15+ years of progressive Finance experience in a technology company, with experience owning all financial functions and processes, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc analysis.
Proven ability to build trust and influence decision making at the executive level by providing timely, proactive, and actionable insights. Track record of being a strategic advisor to executives.
Outstanding conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly build in-depth knowledge of data hierarchies and financial systems; proficient and willing to troubleshoot and solve problems. Detail oriented, but able to zoom out and see the bigger picture.
Experience working cross-functionally, comfortable partnering across Product and Go-to-Market teams.
Experience operating in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Ability to adapt quickly to changes in strategy.
Independent thinker, doesn’t settle, strives for excellence, and fosters an environment of continuous learning and collaboration
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to break down complex financial topics to non-financial audiences.
Demonstrated track record of building, motivating, and developing high performing teams.
Location
This role will be remote and based in the USA. Approximately 10% travel is anticipated.

The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:
Based in Colorado, New York, Washington State, or the San Francisco Bay area, California: $285,000 - $340,000.
This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan. All roles are eligible for the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
