Job Description
Privia Health is looking for a Vice President, Business Development to lead the continued expansion of Privia across the U.S. The Vice President is responsible for executing all aspects of partnership and joint venture development in both current Privia markets and new locations.
The Vice President is an experienced business development/corporate development professional with demonstrated experience and executive presence. Critical to the role will be creating a robust pipeline, developing trusted relationships, and closing complex business deals.
Primary Job Duties:
Working under the direction of the Chief Development Officer, lead the aggressive expansion of Privia
Market Analysis - develop comprehensive market-level analysis of key trends impacting physicians, health systems, payers, employers, and key competitors
Work with Privia leadership on launching new markets around anchor partners
Pipeline Development - prioritize opportunities in both current Privia markets and new locations
Establish relationships with key industry influencers (e.g., advisory firms, investment banks) to support pipeline development
Independently conduct introduction meetings and presentations with CEOs and other C-Suite executives at target partners
Own full lifecycle of the business development process, from lead generation to deal execution
Develop strategies and analyses to support partnership negotiations
Work collaboratively with Privia IT, Operations, Finance and other internal stakeholders to enable and accelerate post-deal integration
Track activities, leads, and pending deals, and participate in routine business development calls with Privia leadership
Represent Privia Health at key industry events
Identify new business model innovations to enable future growth and penetration for Privia
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor's & Advanced degree preferred
10+ years experience, with a specific focus in health care
Proven track record of interacting/advising C-Suite executives
Demonstrated ability to develop commercial solutions with profitable business models
Ability to improve the business development lifecycle (e.g., shorten lead times, improve outcomes)
Strong working knowledge of health care regulation related to Stark/group practice
Must provide reliable transportation
Must comply with all HIPAA rules and regulations
Interpersonal Skills & Attributes:
Business Development / commercial orientation
Ability to thrive in ambiguous business environments, and lead the development of new solutions (management consulting experience a plus)
Executive Presence - Highly intelligent, professional and polished; ability to engender credibility and trust with health system executives
Outstanding communication skills - ability to articulate complex issues and solutions to senior executives and teams
Ability to engage in cross-functional collaboration with internal Privia stakeholders, including: legal, finance, IT, Operations, HR and other corporate areas
Persistent - proven ability to qualify and follow-up on leads from various sources
Street smart and savvy – ability to think on your feet
Highly self-motivated and independently driven
Deadline and results oriented
Motivated, results-driven self starter with an excellent work ethic
Excellent time management, analytical, and organizational skills
