American Specialty Health Incorporated is seeking a Vice President to oversee our EDI operations and software teams. The primary function of this position is to lead the vision, implementation, and maintenance of EDI operations and software teams. The role is responsible for ensuring success for all aspects of the team. The Vice President is responsible for both strategic and tactical execution that matures the team and improves delivery for internal and external customers.

Salary Range 

American Specialty Health complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation depends upon candidate’s qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity. $173,500 to 245.000 Full-Time Annual Salary. Remote Worker Guidelines

Remote Worker Guidelines: This position will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home (WFH) in a designated work area with company-provided technology equipment. This WFH position requires you have a stable connection to your Internet Service Provider with the ability to participate by video in online meetings over a reliable and consistent network (minimum 50 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload speed.)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the team in the successful execution of critical EDI functions that support the organization; accountable for the department strategy, drives key initiatives focused on continuous improvement.

    • Provides strategic leadership by identifying and/or quickly solving barriers, identifying potential efficiency gains, elevating risks, and providing thoughtful and timely feedback

    • Uses robust experience in problem solving for problem identification and definition, outlining plan to resolve, and executing said plan. Uses data to monitor success.

    • Works independently identifying opportunities for team growth and moving forward with steps to effectuate that growth

    • Leads hiring process focused on addressing hard skill requirements as well as candidate’s orientation toward the department’s vision and strategic priorities.

    • Develops and executes onboarding plans that allow new hires to start contributing quickly to the team’s progress.

    • Provides coaching and mentoring to team members, holds career and performance discussions monthly and supports individual growth plan

    • Represents the team in executive level or project-based discussions; support client-facing conversations as needed

    • Provide guidance and oversight in project planning, technical design, estimating and development schedules.

    • Facilitate a culture of innovation and lessons learned among teams to maximize quality and productivity.

    • Provide in-depth knowledge of the larger ASH ecosystem to effectively teach the team how their work impacts the organization

    • Oversee the execution of multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring deadlines are being met

    • Cultivate an environment of collaboration, transparency and passion for excellence.

    • Consistently models strong time management skills by executing and prioritizing multiple projects and team management tasks while working within tight deadlines.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required. If equivalent experience, high school diploma required.

  • 10+ years experience leading technical/development teams required.

  • 10+ years progressive staff supervision and/or management experience required.

  • Experience with principles of software engineering and technical operations workstreams required.

  • Experience establishing tools and processes for capacity planning and workload scoping with various project management methodologies (agile, waterfall, etc.) required.

  • Substantial experience successfully working in external and internal client facing roles required.

  • Experience in a managed health care setting preferred.

  • Working knowledge of ASC X12 5010 Standards in a healthcare environment (270/271, 276/277, 277CA, 278, 834, 835, 837P).

  • Advanced experience using KPIs and or Objectives and Key Results to advance a team. (High proficiency)

  • Highly proficient in core MS Office Applications including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint. (High proficiency)

  • Models initiative by successfully managing multiple priorities and leading the team toward positive change

  • Displays strong time management skills by executing and prioritizing multiple projects and team management tasks while working within tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrates a strong ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff using excellent communication and listening skills to maintain cooperative working relationships.

  • Shows a strong understanding of internal and interconnected systems to help the team navigate potential dependencies in their work

  • Effectively influences others to achieve results; handles conflict resolution; fosters and nurtures a team culture of teamwork.
