Why TrueML?

TrueML is a mission-driven financial software company that aims to create better customer experiences for distressed borrowers. Consumers today want personal, digital-first experiences that align with their lifestyles, especially when it comes to managing finances. TrueML’s approach uses machine learning to engage each customer digitally and adjust strategies in real time in response to their interactions.

The TrueML team includes inspired data scientists, financial services industry experts and customer experience fanatics building technology to serve people in a way that recognizes their unique needs and preferences as human beings and endeavoring toward ensuring nobody gets locked out of the financial system.

At TrueML, our mission is to redefine financial wellness through machine learning. At the core of this mission lies a deep understanding of the human experience. Our UX Research team is the conscience of our product, ensuring that our AI-driven solutions are not just intelligent, but also intuitive, fair, and genuinely helpful to people in complex financial situations.

We are seeking passionate, rigorous, and empathetic researchers to uncover the deep insights that will guide our product, design, and AI strategy. You will study how users interact with and understand intelligent systems, and your work will be foundational to building trust and creating empowering experiences. You will partner closely with the design, product management, and engineering teams to help keep the product customer focused.

Work-Life Benefits

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Medical benefit contributions in congruence with local laws and type of employment agreement

About the role

  • As a UX Researcher II, you are developing your craft and are ready to take on more ownership of the research process. You will conduct research on significant product features, translating user needs and mental models into insights that directly shape our AI-driven products.

What You'll Do:

  • Independently plan and execute research studies with a variety of methods (qualitative and quantitative) for key product features.

  • Own the end-to-end research process, from defining goals and methodology to synthesizing findings and presenting them to your product team.

  • Focus on research questions specific to AI, such as user trust in algorithms, comprehension of AI-driven decisions, and the experience of personalization.

  • Collaborate closely with your cross-functional team (design, product, and engineering), ensuring insights are understood and actioned upon.

  • Effectively communicate findings to stakeholders.

What We're Looking For:

  • 2-4 years of UX research experience.

  • A portfolio that showcases your ability to plan, execute, and land the impact of your research on shipped products.

  • Experience with a range of research methodologies and the ability to choose the right method for the right question.

  • Growing autonomy and the ability to manage your project timelines and priorities.
