UX Design Manager

About the Role

We’re a fast-growing, AI-forward marketplace company connecting real people with real experts—on-demand and across the globe. We’re looking for a UX Design Manager to join us in a contract role covering a maternity leave. This is a high-impact opportunity to lead and inspire a team of designers while contributing to experiences that make a real difference in people’s lives. As a member of our UX Design Leadership Team, you’ll manage designers based in India and Ukraine, working across desktop, mobile, and app platforms. You’ll split your time between leading people (75%) and getting hands-on with design work (25%)—reviewing, collaborating, and occasionally rolling up your sleeves in Figma. This is an 8–10-month contract role for a passionate, senior leader who loves mentoring, thrives on collaboration, and knows how to guide teams toward best-in-practice design solutions that support business goals.

What You’ll Do

🔹Lead & Manage

• Directly manage a distributed team of 4 UX designers across India and Ukraine

• Foster a high-performing, collaborative, and psychologically safe team culture

• Coach and mentor designers on craft, process, and career development

🔹 Design Strategy & Execution

• Define and drive UX strategies aligned to business outcomes and user needs

• Ensure exceptional quality across all platforms (desktop, mobile, app) and brands

• Review and approve work as the team’s design eye, ensuring consistency and clarity

🔹 Collaborate & Influence

• Partner with cross-functional teams—including Product, Engineering, Research, and Content Design—to shape product experiences from idea to execution

• Advocate for design excellence and best practices throughout the organization

• Navigate stakeholder input and competing priorities to find the best path forward

🔹 Champion Tools & Data

• Use tools like Figma, Microsoft Clarity, Mouseflow, Asana, and UserTesting to streamline workflows and refine user experiences

• Make data-informed decisions with tools like Google Analytics and Power BI

What We’re Looking For

✔ Experienced Designer & Leader

• 5+ years in UX/UI or product design with a strong portfolio

• 1+ years of people management experience, ideally with remote or international teams

• Proven ability to coach and elevate designers of varying experience levels

✔ Strategic & Hands-On

• Comfortable managing at scale and jumping into Figma when needed

• Skilled at delivering end-to-end product experiences across platforms

✔ Cross-Functional Collaborator

• Excellent communicator who can align diverse stakeholders

• Experience working in matrixed organizations or fast-paced marketplaces

✔ Global & Marketplace Savvy

• Familiar with platforms that connect independent contractors to customers (e.g., Uber, Airbnb, Lyft, LegalZoom)

• Available for late evening or night hours to collaborate across time zones

• Experience in B2C, consumer tech, or e-commerce environments a plus
