Job Description
Opportunity at a Glance We are interested in developing long-term relationships with superior instructors who have high professional standards, excellent communication skills, enthusiasm and a commitment to providing the finest practitioner-focused education. We are seeking primarily Industry Professionals to share their knowledge and experience with undergraduate and graduate students in a variety of fields. Courses meet once or twice a week for eight weeks. The face-to-face interaction is blended with technology (such as online discussions and online assignments) for an enhanced learning environment. Commitment is on a course-by-course basis. Responsibilities
Engage students using an online LMS as they use competency-based adaptive technology to develop skills in becoming a successful student through time management and study strategies, reading/critical thinking, quantitative reasoning, and scientific reasoning
Coach, mentor, encourage and monitor students closely as they follow timelines and meet benchmarks during their competency-based progress during this 8-week course
Partner with academic leaders to develop strategies for success as areas of opportunity for students are identified and reported through extensive data collection and outcome assessment
Monitor student progress on a personalized learning path, referring students to academic resources and remediation as needed.
Conduct virtual office hours
Qualifications
A Master's Degree in Education, Adult Education, College Counseling or closely related field is required; candidates with a terminal degree in field are encouraged to apply
Master’s Degree in any area plus experience with college student success/student services processes - i.e. advising, student support services, counseling – will be considered
A minimum 2 years of teaching experience in an online/virtual environment is required
Candidates with experience mentoring adult learners and first-year college students are encouraged to apply
Experience in online coaching and tutoring is preferred.
Are eager to serve students and colleagues with passion, respect and care
Operate with a sense of responsibility and purpose with the desire to enrich colleagues, students and the broader community
Are able to provide official transcripts for all earned degrees from a regionally accredited institution
Additional Information
Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position - Online: In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected compensation rate for this position is between $715/Earned Credit Hour to $1,950/Earned Credit Hour, depending on the candidate’s education and experience. Actual pay may be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
