AST SpaceMobile and our global partners are building the first and only space-based cellular broadband network to be accessible by standard smartphones. Called SpaceMobile, this ultra-powerful network is being designed to provide connectivity at 4G/5G speeds everywhere on the planet on land, at sea and in flight.
The Technical Recruiter is responsible for recruiting and placing qualified engineering and other general position candidates by locating, pre-screening, and interviewing potential candidates; performs reference checks and evaluates job skills as required to select qualified candidates to fulfill job requisitions. This is a remote position but will require some travel.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partners with hiring managers and other appropriate managers to anticipate and plan for staffing needs in advance of required start date.
- Sources and recruits new candidates by making cold calls, attending job fairs, networking within companies, and utilizing the Internet to locate and maintain a pool of qualified candidates for assignments.
- Generates and maintains job postings; determines effective advertising mediums; places appropriate advertisements.
- Manages relationships with external agencies and vendors who advertise and promote targeted jobs.
- Conducts in-person and/or phone interviews; qualifies technical professionals for skill, proficiency, and suitability; completes reference and background checks for potential candidates.
- Performs thorough background and reference checks on all potential candidates prior to job offer; provides detailed information to hiring manager.
- Selects qualified candidates for submission to hiring managers in response to their job requisitions.
- Makes recommendations regarding recruitment programs, budgets, and collateral to attract applicants and to fill specific job openings.
- Creates and updates candidate database for current and future job opportunities.
- Ensures the completion of pre-employment documents, new hire documentation, orientation, and benefits administration.
- Recruits for lower-level jobs and additional project work as needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- US Citizen or Permanent Resident Card holder.
- Bachelors degree (B.A.) or equivalent preferred.
- Five years related experience or equivalent.
- Experience in recruiting and staffing.
- Excellent salesmanship skills.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Ability to work with all levels of management.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees.
- Proficient on Microsoft Office 365.
- Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
- Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
- Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.
