The games platform team is looking for a Technical Program Manager to strengthen our game software development kit (SDK) and game services capabilities in Netflix’s relatively nascent opportunity in games.

The game SDK and services Technical Program Manager will partner closely with product and engineering to drive impactful cross-functional programs both within the games org and across the company. The role requires strong coordination and collaboration with multiple engineering teams in our core games platform team, Netflix Game Studios organization, design, data science, security and others. This role has the direct opportunity to impact the quality, engagement, and satisfaction of our game development partners - and ultimately our members' satisfaction with Netflix games on our product.

Responsibilities

  • Leading multiple cross-functional programs, in collaboration with product, engineering, design, and data science.

  • Provide deep domain expertise to form technical strategies with engineering partners.

  • Drive engagement with internal partners, work to decompose requirements into technical execution plans with measurable milestones, effectively optimize scope and schedule, manage cross-functional dependencies, and proactively manage risks.

  • Craft clear communication of progress toward goals, reporting status to stakeholders and leadership.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of technical program management experience

  • Deep understanding and experience with game development SDKs and Services

  • Direct experience with game or game platform development is beneficial (TPM, product, development, etc.)

  • Highly skilled, experienced, and enjoys orchestrating multi-organizational impacting software programs with many moving parts

  • Proven experience creating partnerships with cross-functional teams, driving large-scale technical strategies, debating technical approaches, and building long-term scalable solutions

  • Able to identify gaps in solutions  and weigh in on product vs. technology tradeoffs

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate the business impact and technical constraints tailored to the audience

  • Self-starter who enjoys tackling 0 to 1 problem spaces and scaling 1-100, quickly bringing organization and direction

  • Exemplify the Netflix culture by understanding, advocating, and demonstrating its values

Location of work:

Our organization has a distributed team across the US. We are considering both candidates who are willing to relocate to Los Gatos, California, and fully remote candidates (remote in the US with travel to Netflix HQ). The expectation is that candidates will work during core Pacific Standard Time business hours.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top-of-market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $240,000 - $725,000.

Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs.  Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
