Tax Manager
The Role
We’re looking for a Manager, Tax, reporting to the Director, Tax & Treasury, to support our rapidly expanding international tax operations (with a focus on LATAM). You will own the compliance over our direct and indirect tax filings prepared by external service providers. In addition, you will play a central role in shaping and executing on our global expansion strategy with a focus on optimizing the company’s tax positions.
Responsibilities
Own the company’s LATAM tax compliance and reporting. This includes managing our external service providers to ensure accurate and timely submission of income, VAT and other tax returns. You will review tax provisions contained in customer agreements and contracts. You will also provide support for local statutory audits and related inquiries.
Manage interactions with service providers & auditors. You will own the relationship with our local tax and accounting providers, including responding to inquiries, providing support, and reviewing outputs. You will also be responsible for timely communication with inquiries from tax authorities.
Support month-end close activities. In coordination with our Accounting team, you will handle close checklists, balance sheet reconciliations, flux explanations, and journal entry preparation for tax-related accounts.
Customer tax inquiries & billing. You will support our Billing Operations team to determine correct taxes on customer invoices, respond to customer inquiries about tax, and support account managers to determine the most tax-efficient billing arrangements.
In addition to the above, you will support the Director, Tax & Treasury with:
Optimizing the company’s non-US cash and liquidity positions.
Supporting the Payroll team for ad-hoc payroll tax matters.
Requirements
English and Spanish fluency
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance (or local equivalent)
CPA or CA (or local equivalent)
5+ years of corporate tax experience, either in public accounting (client-service) or industry (multinational corporation); B2B SaaS and/or startup experience a plus
Experience with Avalara (or similar) indirect tax compliance software
Experience with Netsuite (or similar) ERP software
