Staff Technical Program Manager - Core Merchants
Pinterest Technical Program Managers deliver critical & strategic outcomes by directing and scaling engineering effort across organizational and functional boundaries.
Pinterest is looking for an experienced and motivated Staff Technical Program Manager to drive our Merchant experience outcomes. This person will work cross functionally with engineering, product, and design stakeholders to efficiently meet Pinterest's objectives, building delightful and engaging experiences for Pinners to deliver the right inspiration at the right time.
What you’ll do:
Lead complex, cross-organizational initiatives, proactively identify, define, and drive major strategic programs and workstreams that require coordination between our organic product teams and our Ads organizations. Manage intricate dependencies effectively, specifically those involving merchant onboarding, catalog health and partnerships between the Ad and Organic teams within Pinterest as we manage our merchant experience
Working closely with XFN leads, PMs, Design, Engineering, and potentially external partners to ensure alignment and smooth execution Including partnering deeply with our Ads teams and aligning with the TPGM team in Ads
Risk management and problem-solving: Identifying potential roadblocks, assessing risks, and proactively finding solutions to keep the program on track.
Establish and Optimize Process: Develop and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the Merchants team. Implement robust tracking mechanisms and facilitate strong communication and management practices between organizations.
What we’re looking for:
Experience in working with both Ads and Organic Products
8+ years of experience as a technical program manager, or related experience
Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or related experience
Entrepreneurial spirit with strong leadership, who can develop and lead a new initiative from the ground up and thrive in ambiguity
Passion for execution and getting things done with a focus on streamlining process across disparate groups
Solid technical background and ability to quickly understand technical designs, challenges and risks. Experience breaking down complex problems and driving decision making.
Strong analytical abilities, able to create & monitor metrics, proactively identify growth opportunities & incidents
Strong technical understanding of merchants flow in a product experience
Strong written, verbal communication skills and comfort in communicating nuanced, and often technical, concepts to internal stakeholders or external partners
Ability to influence teams & drive alignment among multiple stakeholders
Demonstrated experience in creating and driving efficient processes at scale
Proven ability to manage competing priorities across teams
