Team Description:

Reddit is rapidly innovating and growing, and our Ranking and Data API team is at the forefront of this evolution. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of how users interact with content and how developers build on the Reddit platform. As a key member of this fast-growing team, you will have significant ownership and impact on the next generation of ranking systems for Devvit apps and the strategic direction of our Data API business.

Role Description:

You will develop a long-term vision and build the roadmap for ranking Devvit apps and Data API, ensuring a highly relevant and engaging user experience. This role requires a strong technical background and an understanding of machine learning concepts to drive innovation in our ranking systems. Additionally, you will be responsible for our Data API business, playing a pivotal role in evolving the existing Data API and spearheading initiatives to effectively monetize API products.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and execute the product vision and roadmap for ranking Devvit apps.

  • Lead the strategy, development, and monetization of Reddit's Data API.

  • Collaborate closely with engineering, data science, and other cross-functional teams to deliver impactful products.

  • Identify new investment opportunities and drive thoughtful recommendations to maximize value for Reddit.

  • Be an internal expert in your area, synthesizing various inputs to provide clear product direction in ambiguous situations.

  • Drive challenging discussions and negotiate to resolve controversial issues between teams.

  • Build and run processes for your team to execute effectively.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.

  • Minimum of 7-10+ years of experience as a Product Manager, for a ranking or API product

  • Strong understanding of machine learning and ranking concepts

  • Strong understanding of API design, development, and lifecycle.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Clear passion for Reddit and it’s mission

  • Proven experience in managing and delivering API and Ranking products

  • MBA or advanced degree in a relevant field
