Staff Accountant
POSITION SUMMARY
Our Staff Accountant supports accurate and timely general ledger activities and ensures compliance with UpKeep’s financial policies. This role plays a vital part in daily accounting operations and contributes to the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting across the company.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with global month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
Support the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes by ensuring timely customer invoicing and vendor payments.
Prepare routine general ledger account reconciliations and assist with revenue and expense analysis.
Assist in maintaining supporting documentation for accounting transactions in accordance with internal controls.
Provide audit support by gathering requested documentation and preparing basic audit schedules.
Help compile tax-related information and coordinate with external tax consultants as needed.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and procedures.
EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
1–2 years’ experience in an accounting or finance support role (internships included)
KNOWLEDGE
Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, basic formulas)
Familiarity with US GAAP is preferred
Experience with ERP systems is a plus

COMPENSATION
This role will receive a competitive base salary + annual bonus + benefits + equity. A variety of factors are considered when determining someone’s compensation–including a candidate’s professional background, experience, and location. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed below.
The pay range for this role is $75,000 - $85,000 USD per year.
