Job Description
Summary
The PCI-ISO8583 team at Pismo is responsible for managing global financial transactions originating from various card brands. We operate in a critical area of our platform, ensuring that applications handling sensitive transaction data are secure, reliable, and fully compliant with PCI DSS requirements.
What You'll Do
Develop and maintain applications using Golang or Java, following clean code and best software engineering practices.
Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure microservices architecture.
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to refine and deliver technical solutions aligned with business needs.
Leverage AWS services such as SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, S3, and EventBridge in day-to-day development.
Use Terraform to provision, maintain, and evolve AWS infrastructure.
Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and system robustness.
Monitor application health and performance using observability tools (metrics, logs, alerts).
Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
Contribute to architectural and technical discussions, supporting continuous improvement and innovation.
This is a remote position. A remote position does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a Visa office location. Remote positions may be required to be present at a Visa office with scheduled notice.
Qualifications
For this role, you must be based in Brazil.
Language Skills
Proficiency in English at B1 level (Intermediate) or above.
Technical Skills
8+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
5+ years of experience with Java or Golang in production environments.
2+ years of experience with AWS services (e.g., SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, S3).
Strong experience in designing and maintaining microservices architectures.
Solid knowledge of SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (Git).
Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform preferred).
Professional experience in the payments industry (e.g., acquirers, issuers, card schemes, PSPs, or related services).
Desirable Qualifications
Experience with ISO8583 protocol and payment transaction processing.
Experience working in PCI-compliant environments.
Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
Background in event-driven architecture and messaging systems.
Understanding of observability practices (monitoring, tracing, alerting).
Experience in high-scale and high-availability environments.
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
