Where you will work:
This role is based remotely in the US with occasional travel to our US offices.
Sponsorship & Relocation Not Available- Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We are unable to sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening. Additionally, we are unable to offer any relocation assistance for this role.
Your key responsibilities:
Negotiate all privacy agreements for customers, vendors, and partners (including DPAs, BAAs, and others) and develop templates, contracting support materials, playbooks and processes.
Provide internal and customer-facing support for privacy inquiries and due diligence.
Develop and implement privacy initiatives and policies across Vonage.
Assess privacy risk across Vonage (including through vendor reviews, privacy impact assessments, privacy-by-design initiatives, and ad hoc guidance).
Support response to data subject rights requests.
Researching and analyzing global privacy laws and HIPAA and advising various business functions (e.g., marketing, product, finance, sales) and within privacy operations.
Providing litigation and incident response support.
Managing initiatives to develop and mature privacy practices across the organization.
Advise on new privacy laws, regulations, and industry trends.
Manage day-to-day support of privacy program.
Support development for employees and partner privacy training.
What you will bring:
Required
5+ years of experience working in privacy with in-house experience in a privacy department a plus.
Expert legal or regulatory skills in privacy and data protection, and excellent understanding of the global privacy landscape in technology and online businesses.
Extensive experience with contract review and negotiation and playbook development.
Demonstrated ability to identify and solve problems in a complex technology and business environment by creating simple, repeatable and actionable solutions and policy positions.
Independence and versatile in responding to a wide variety of privacy-related topics.
Excellent written and verbal communication, legal research and analysis skills.
Desirable
Comfortable with ambiguity. Persistence to drive change over time.
Results oriented, proactive, responsible, pragmatic and ethical person with a passion for privacy and interest in technologies.
Experience with telecommunications industry or communication platforms as a service (CPaaS) and APIs a plus.
IAPP (CIPP/E, CIPP/US) or other privacy certifications.
Experience with OneTrust or similar privacy management software a plus.
