Sr. Director - Data Science
What You'll Do
The Sr. Director, Data Science thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready for a challenge. This person is responsible for supporting the development of product roadmaps, achieving optimal design, driving effective prioritization, establishing OKRs, facilitating definitions of business processes and attaining assurance of usability for end users as well as effective delivery of stakeholder requirements. The Sr. Director, Data Science is a data product leader, scientist with organizational leadership experience in the development of technology for data-driven management. They are an integral part of the Technology team in managing team members, coaching, training, and driving collaboration to ensure effective utilization of solutions.
Essential Functions
Partner with product, clinical, operation and business stakeholders to define and align data science initiatives and roadmap
Oversee cross-functional execution and implementation of data science initiatives, ensuring consistent alignment between goals at all levels, and translation of effort into value
Instill and cultivate result-oriented mindset cross-functionally
Represent data science voice in strategic discussion with a balance between short-term and long-term value-add, customer-facing priorities and non-customer-facing priorities
Foster strong stakeholder relationships and improve adoption and trust for data science products
Work with teams on MLOps implementations, ensuring high-quality standards and best practices
Represent data science perspectives in overarching data system design discussion, ensuring coherence and alignment across data acquisition, management, enrichment, and delivery
Wear SME hat in applied statistics and applied machine learning when there is gap
Hands-on involved in the full life cycle of solution development, from scope & definition to delivery
Manage a high-performing team of Sr. Data Scientists and machine learning engineers
Coach members with individualized approach, catering towards their interests, strengths, and weaknesses
Act as a servant leader who guides the team to reach their goals
Act as a core member of the tech leadership team, contributing to the culture of Strive tech community
Minimum Qualifications
M.S. or above in a quantitative field
7+ years of full-time experience in building machine learning and/or statistical products and services
3+ years of people leadership experience
3+ years of experience at a healthcare organization ideally in population health
Internet Connectivity - Min Speeds: 3.8Mbps/3.0Mbps (up/down): Latency <60 ms.
Ability to travel and be onsite to meet business needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading and growing a high-performing data science team
Proven track record of driving cross-functional effort to initiate and deliver high-impact data science projects
Result-oriented approach with a can-do, entrepreneurial mindset
5+ years of people leadership experience
Annual Salary Range: $153,00 - $191,000
