At MyFitnessPal, we believe health starts with what you eat. We provide tools, resources and support to enable users to reach their health goals. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst to join the MyFitnessPal Business Intelligence team. You will be an expert on MyFitnessPal product experimentation and product performance. The Business Intelligence team is a great place to be at MyFitnessPal.  We are on the pulse of the business as we are responsible for KPIs, Monitoring and Alerts, AB Testing, Data Democraticization, and Strategic Insights.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Perform large-scale hypothesis testing and statistical analysis to find which solution will bring the best results; including AB and multivariate testing, and pre/post or  difference-in-difference analysis

    • Participate in a product team ‘squad’ and advise on hypothesis design, primary success metrics, and secondary metrics, which could inform deeper learning or future iterations of a feature

    • Collaborate with product to set up analytics tracking necessary to get them the insights that they need

    • Be the last line of defense as we sanity-check variants and test setup.  Become an expert in the subtleties of our AB testing tool Split.io

    • Create clear and easy-to-understand analysis and recommendations

  • Develop solutions for communicating data across various stakeholders by leading requirements collection, metrics definition, data extraction and manipulation, design of dashboards and ad hoc reports

  • Partner with product leadership to solve business problems and identify trends for growth opportunities (i.e. suggest new analyses, experiments, user cohorts)

  • Most importantly, be a trusted partner to our product managers and help them succeed in their mission to improve our product

Qualifications to be successful in this role:

  • 5+ years of technology industry experience within business intelligence function, including at least 3 years working with deep technical expertise and experience in Product Analytics (A/B Testing)

  • Advanced capabilities and experience with BI tools.  Amplitude and Tableau experience preferred

  • Proficient in SQL

  • Experience with project management and supporting relationships with internal stakeholders (Product, Data Engineering)

  • Superb communication skills with leaders in multi-functional roles and ability to condense complicated data sets into concise and actionable stories

  • Curious Mindset - We are looking for someone who enjoys seeking the truth through data - if you ever found yourself bringing in out-of-the-box datasets and theories because you just had to figure out why a number moved this is the job for you

  • MS in an appropriate technology field (Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Math, etc.) or equivalent experience

  • Travel Requirement: Approximately 10% travel will be required for this position

Please consider applying even if you don’t meet 100% of the qualifications. Research shows you can still be considered for a position if you meet some of the requirements. At MyFitnessPal, we’re building a fitness product for everyone and believe our team should reflect that. We encourage people of different backgrounds, experiences, abilities and perspectives to apply.

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at MyFitnessPal ranges from $100,000 - $140,000. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, MyFitnessPal offers a wide range of comprehensive and inclusive employee benefits for this role including healthcare, parental planning, mental health benefits, annual performance bonus, a 401(k) plan and match, responsible time off, monthly wellness and technology allowances, and others.
