This role is based in our Product and Innovation function. Here we innovate and play to develop new, and evolve existing Products and Services, with a focus on customer-centricity, innovation, and product development. We focus on creating and evolving value by encompassing new learning, technology, sustainability, and market trends across our Intellectual Property.
Within the Product Technology team we follow an iterative agile process and a continuous integration and continuous delivery approach, supported by an automated release pipeline.
Our guiding principle to trust and enable engineers to take ownership of their work and determine the most effective way to deliver it. We encourage continuous learning for our engineers through training and dedicated weekly innovation time. Job Description
We’re growing our team and looking for a Squad Lead, someone who’s passionate about enabling great software delivery through strong leadership, collaboration, and technical awareness.
As a Squad Lead, while you will remain close to the technical output of your team, your primary responsibility isn’t writing code - it’s enabling your team to succeed. You’ll coach and support a cross-functional squad of engineers, contribute to planning and delivery processes, and build an environment where people feel empowered to do their best work. You’ll work closely with a Product Manager to shape the squad’s roadmap, plan delivery, and ensure work is aligned to customer needs and organisational priorities.
You’ll stay close to the technology, maintaining a strong grasp of our systems and architecture, and using that insight to guide conversations, unblock delivery, and help your team solve the right problems.
Qualifications
What we’re looking for
Experience leading or coaching a software delivery team in an Agile environment
Strong understanding of modern software delivery practices (CI/CD, iterative development, etc.)
A technical mindset - you're comfortable discussing architecture, quality, and scalability
Good communication skills - able to lead technical discussions and explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders
Significant experience in either Java or React development
Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills
Passion for supporting the growth of individuals and teams
Ability to balance delivery goals with maintaining team health and sustainable pace
