SQL Financial Data Analyst

We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly skilled Financial Data Analyst to join our growing team. This role will give you the opportunity to work with global data sources, manage financial reports, and optimize workflows for one of the leading tech companies. Key Responsibilities:

• Budget Documentation Review: Analyze and review budget documents from our external agency partnersto ensure consistency with companys internal data. Keep our budget sources accurate and up-to-date.

• Data Reformatting: Convert raw data into a standardized format on a weekly basis for efficient integration into our internal systems. Proactively track and update daily, addressing any alerts or issues from the Wavemaker team.

• Dashboard Updates: Regularly update our financial dashboards, comparing spend data with the adjusted Annual Operating Plan (AOP) to identify any discrepancies.

• Forecast Monitoring: Monitor weekly forecasts and spend pacing, and investigate any delays or discrepancies in data to ensure accuracy.

• Forecast Adjustments: Review and adjust forecasts for New Customer Acquisition (Cx) and Cost Per Acquisition (CPA) across performance channels to keep forecasts aligned with actual results.

• Stakeholder Reporting: Provide regular reports on pacing and financial metrics to internal stakeholders. Collaborate with the Martech team to resolve any issues.

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with our finance team to ensure monthly reporting accuracy. Collaborate with accounting on end-of-month reporting and invoicing. Coordinate with the Martech team for UTM updates when necessary.

• Workflow Optimization: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline processes, enhance efficiency, and innovate workflows for continuous improvement.

Key Qualifications:

• Data Management Expertise: Proven experience in handling large datasets, budget management, and financial reporting.

• Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, identify trends, and spot variances. Experience in forecasting and monitoring performance is a must.

• Technical Proficiency:

  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools.

  • Familiarity with database management and data ingestion processes.

  • Proficient in SQL for querying and manipulating data.

  • Experience with VBA for automating processes is a plus.

• Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate complex data and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues, troubleshoot problems, and implement effective solutions, particularly around data discrepancies and process optimization.

• Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in data management and reporting to ensure alignment with internal data sources.

• Innovation Mindset: Proactively seek out ways to optimize workflows and improve processes with new ideas and solutions.

• Ability to work US hours, preferably in the Central Standard Time (CST) zone.
