The team

The Growth Insights team is responsible for building a scalable, well-integrated, and governed analytics ecosystem that enables Kraken’s Growth and Platform teams to make data-driven decisions with confidence. Our mission is to ensure that marketing, product, and business analytics data is accurate, reliable, and actionable, allowing us to optimize attribution, performance tracking, and user interactions across our ecosystem.

We collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Data teams to audit, enhance, and streamline event tracking, improve attribution accuracy, and optimize our MarTech stack. Our work ensures that analytics tracking is transparent, maintainable, and aligned with best practices, while enabling other teams to confidently make data-driven improvements to Kraken’s user experience. As a Software Engineer II- Frontend on the Growth Insights team, you will be the driving force behind our analytics tracking, attribution models, and event data governance. You will play a key role in optimizing how data flows through our extensive MarTech infrastructure, ensuring we capture, process, and report on key user interactions, marketing performance, and A/B tests with accuracy and reliability.

The opportunity

  • Architect and develop the analytics events data flow from web and mobile apps to 3rd parties

  • Build a framework for experiments and A/B tests and the tools to enable experimentation for all teams in the company

  • Extreme ownership of all MarTech tools, processes, libraries and integrations

  • Develop and maintain a knowledge base of how data is collected, processed, transmitted, and reported, ensuring transparency and usability across the company

  • Develop and maintain shared libraries and best practices for event tracking across multiple codebases, ensuring consistency, reducing duplication, and enabling high-quality data collection across Kraken’s frontend platforms

  • Implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively detect and address data inconsistencies before they impact reporting and decision-making

  • Collaborate closely with Data Engineering and Analytics teams to maintain a unified source of truth, ensuring alignment across all data consumers at Kraken

  • Optimize our MarTech solutions, maximizing the value of our current systems and recommending alternative solutions when appropriate

  • Map out and refine event data flows, reducing redundancy and improving efficiency, transparency, and cost-effectiveness in our tracking architecture

  • Improve attribution modeling, ensuring that we can accurately track where visitors come from and tie that data back to long-term user engagement

Skills you should HODL

  • 4+ years of experience in frontend development, with strong expertise in React.js (either on web or react-native on mobile) and TypeScript

  • Strong understanding of web tracking technologies and analytics platforms, including Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Segment, and Mixpanel

  • Proven ability to audit and troubleshoot data discrepancies

  • Experience working across multiple teams and code bases

  • Track record of working with large-scale data tracking and analytics solutions

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to align engineering, marketing, and analytics teams on best practices

  • Hands-on experience with frontend testing frameworks and modern build pipelines

Nice to haves

  • Experience with large-scale, real-time event processing

  • Knowledge of marketing automation solutions and advertising network integrations

  • Familiarity with A/B testing solutions and experimentation methodologies

  • Understanding of cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, and decentralized applications
