This position is needed to help the Comms Engineering team build and maintain the communications platform, used by thousands of customers worldwide to communicate through various channels. A successful candidate is passionate about designing, developing, deploying and operating software solutions at scale, a self-starter, embodying a growth mindset, and wants to help Twilio deliver the best user experience for next-generation communications.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
Develop and maintain software
Work with a small and collaborative team, whiteboarding ideas, building backend services and APIs
Perform thorough and thoughtful code reviews to help maintain a high standard of code quality
Support production operations, building, releasing and assisting with team on-call
Craft clear and concise documentation

Required:
Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferable in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Experience with Go or Java
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
Desired:
Experience using NoSQL databases like DynamoDB
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, including containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Polyglot developer with the ability to work across multiple programming languages and frameworks as needed.
Location
This role will be remote, but is not eligible to be hired in CA, CT, NJ, NY, PA, or WA.
Travel
We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. For this role, you may be required to travel occasionally to participate in project or team in-person meetings.

Compensation
*Please note this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado, California, New York, Washington, and Washington D.C. The information below is provided for candidates hired in those locations only.
The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:
Based in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont or Washington D.C.: $120,000.00
Based in New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $126,500.00
Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $141,000.00
This role is eligible to participate in Twilio's equity plan and the following benefits: health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, paid parental leave.
The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the state.
