The Marketing team is looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Video Editor with a proven track record in advertising and film production to join Kodify. Our focus is to create high impact visuals and influential content to share on social media and internal platforms. The Video Editor must ensure that this content is of the highest quality and meets the daily and weekly deadlines utilizing expertise in Premiere Pro and After Effects as well as experience with audio enhancement, video compositing, color correction, and compression software.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Creative Director and other team members in Montreal and Los Angeles to create well-told, visually entertaining, and compelling videos.

  • Prepare, source (when applicable), and edit footage for short-form content using Premiere Pro.

  • Edit multiple deliverables from a single source including short social pieces for tiktok, IG, Youtube, X and promotional film trailers, commercials and advertisements under the direction of the Creative Director.

  • Integrate overlays, graphics, and music as applicable while ensuring the highest-quality editing.

  • Maintain video production schedules and monitor the progress of tasks and multiple projects to ensure content meets the live production timelines.

  • Present concepts, moodboards and creative briefs.

  • Research new and current video, design trends and editing/animation techniques.

  • Assist in the development of marketing workflow processes & guidelines.

  • Collaborate with our analytics team to use data to influence future creatives.

  • Assess and resolve technical and creative issues methodically.

  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.

  • 5+ years of professional video experience in a film production or agency environment.

  • 5+ years editing short form fiction content.

  • 5+ years of using Premiere Pro and After Effects with working knowledge of post-production

  • Experience working with daily and weekly content delivery deadlines

  • Strong understanding of advertising and copywriting.

  • Able to multitask and prioritize video projects based on notes, content, and deadlines

  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or issues

  • Able to make sound editing decisions and apply good judgment to create a coherent and effective story.

  • Organization, and asset management within a timeline.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on attention to detail.

  • Must be highly motivated and action-oriented.

  • Experience creating dynamic social media content.

  • Ability to give and receive critical feedback in a team environment.

  • Ability to analyze trends and competition, look at new data, understand design and smart copy, and recognize fresh approaches to advertising.
