Huntington Ingalls Industries - Technical Solutions Division, Integrated Mission Solutions Group (Camber Corporation) provides mission-critical engineering and technical service to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.
HII-TSD, Integrated Mission Solutions Group (Camber Corporation) is currently seeking a senior technical editor/writer to work in either Orlando, FL, Monterey, CA or potentially remote location. The individual selected for this position will serve as the Senior Technical Editor/Writer and provide support to the Program Manager. This person is responsible for the editorial review, finalization, and delivery of reports and test items.
Duties and Responsibilities (t o include but not be limited to the following):
* Review and edit highly technical reports of research on assessments as well as other contract deliverables. Review and edit test items.
* Review and edit paper-based test development reference material, user guides, instructions and other procedural documentation, training documents, program documentation; and online content.
* Ensure content meets editorial and customer specifications and adheres to standards for quality, graphics, format, and style.
* Coach staff to organize content to meet audience needs
Qualifications and Experience:
Required-
* Master's degree in a communications field, such as English, Journalism, Technical Communication, or a related field
* At least 10 years of experience in scientific report editing or test item writing/editing and thorough knowledge of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, capable of rewriting and final editing based on general guidance/principles/examples, capable of generating editing rules from general guidance/principles/examples.
* Must be a US citizen with at minimum a National Agency Check & Inquiries (NACI) personnel background investigation.
* Excellent skills with Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint; webpage authoring software such as WordPress, languages such as HTML, and tools such as CSS; and other publishing software
* Demonstrated experience providing guidance and work leadership to staff members on technical documentation topics.
Preferred-
* Ability and interest in working within a highly collaborative team environment while also knowing how and when to take initiative to advance individual and team projects.
* Knowledge of social media platforms and an ability to write accurate and compelling posts that drive traffic to content.
* Familiarity with photo editing software, such as Photoshop, to edit photos.
