Job Description
As a Senior Software Engineer for the Data Platform team at Postscript, you will enrich the Postscript product with cross-domain data services and integrations. The Data Platform team at Postscript focuses on data integration through various sources like our production application, ecommerce platforms like Shopify, and various 3rd party ecommerce integrations. You will focus on designing and building end to end data pipeline solutions: data ingestion, propagation, persistence, and service development to support our core products, analytics, and our internal BI organization. This role is critical in ensuring data and events are reliable and actionable throughout the Postscript Platform and is crucial in advancing our product-driven AI efforts.
This position is fully remote, and Postscript has been a fully remote company since day 1.
Primary duties
Architect and build highly available, performant and scalable distributed data systems
Build and scale new services to support our product with cross domain data needs
Take ownership and be creative with your solutions as you help deliver excellent products to our customers
Design, build, and maintain systems that manage 3rd party data integrations
Mentor and support your fellow engineers via code reviews, design reviews and peer feedback
Be accountable for communicating transparently and proactively, defining scope, breaking down and estimating tasks, risk and change management
Requirements
Minimum 6 years professional software development experience
A proven career as a software engineer developing production data systems
Experience building, deploying, and maintaining applications on AWS
Experience designing data models, schemas and operating complex data pipelines
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experience building great products (high growth, early stage tech preferred)
Experience coaching and mentoring engineers

You have a broad range of experience with data persistence technologies (RDBMS, NoSQL, OLAP, etc.) and know how to select the right tool for the job
You’ve worked in event driven systems and have experience with technologies like Kafka, Kinesis, RabbitMQ, etc.
Experience with infrastructure as code technologies like Terraform
You’re comfortable with ambiguity and like to dig into the problems as much as you love creating solutions
You stay abreast of new technologies and are always looking to incorporate them into our stack
