About the Role
As a Senior Software Engineer at HitPay, you will play a critical role in shaping the core of our payments and commerce platform. You’ll architect and build backend solutions that power thousands of small businesses, tackle complex technical challenges, and contribute directly to the scalability, security, and reliability of our systems. This is a hands-on role with high ownership, where you’ll work closely with product and engineering teams to deliver impactful solutions.
What You’ll Do
Architect and develop robust backend solutions for the HitPay platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and efficiency.
Lead the design and implementation of new business and financial tools, leveraging customer feedback and aligning with product strategy.
Solve complex technical challenges, delivering innovative and reliable solutions to enhance system stability and performance.
Collaborate on platform architecture, focusing on backend optimization and seamless integration with frontend systems.
Conduct code reviews, testing, and mentorship to maintain engineering excellence across the team.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on backend web development.
Mastery of PHP, Laravel, and MySQL; experience with frontend frameworks such as Vue.js is a plus.
Strong knowledge of API design principles and RESTful services.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively in a remote-first environment.
