Who we're looking for: 

 

As part of our growing team, you will play a key role in shaping the future of sustainable product development. We’re looking for innovative, driven Site Reliability Engineers who are passionate about technology and sustainability to join us in building tools that enable companies to make smarter, more responsible decisions. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate with talented professionals, contribute to cutting-edge projects, and help drive the digital transformation of industries worldwide. This role is a fixed, permanent position. All successful applicants will need to reside in Germany with legal working permits or residence permits.  

 

The role:  

 

  • Infrastructure Management: Maintain and manage new and existing infrastructure, balancing both proactive and reactive maintenance. 

  • Technical Problem Identification and Resolution: Identify technical problems and bottlenecks. Collaborate with the engineering team to resolve these issues efficiently. 

  • ISO Compliance: Ensure all infrastructure and processes are in compliance with ISO standards, and assist in maintaining those certifications. 

  • Production Support: Work closely with engineering teams to ensure our developed tools and applications run smoothly in a production environment. 

  • Backup Management: Oversee and manage all system backups, ensuring Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) are met. 

  • Release Management Support: Assist in managing software releases to minimize disruption and maximize uptime. 

  • Off-Duty Support: Participate in an off-duty or pager duty rotation to provide round-the-clock system reliability and support. 

  • Incident Review and Analysis: Lead postmortems following any system disruptions, and help identify ways to prevent future incidents. 

  • Infrastructure Monitoring: Monitor system alerts and respond quickly to maintain system health and maximize uptime. 

  • Capacity Planning: Participate in planning server capacity, ensuring we can meet current and future demands 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, or a related field. 

  • 7+ years of experience in site reliability engineering or a similar role. 

  • Experience supporting/coaching less experienced team members. 

  • Proven experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS or Azure. 

  • Extensive experience using Terraform and Ansible. 

  • Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and testing. 

  • Strong knowledge of system monitoring tools. 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues. 

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills. 

  • Proven experience managing system backups and understanding of RTO and RPO. 

  • Familiarity with release management processes. 

  • Ability to work in an on-call capacity. 

  • Experience conducting postmortems and making necessary improvements. 

  • Define the Site Reliability Strategy and Execute on it 

  • Experience in managing Stakeholders and expectations from Stakeholders 

  • Experience in dealing with concurring priorities / context switching
