In 1979, an engineer named Genrich Altshuller published a culmination of his life's work analysing patents and the sources of innovation called the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving. The idea, based on his experience as an engineer, brought together principles of how to take complex problems and procedurally solve them. The application of these ideas has since led to over 200k new patents and innovations, including the use of Principle #7 (Nested Dolls) to design the honeycomb structure that is now used on airplane wings.

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager who can lead a new innovative effort in how we distribute Mercury. In this role, you’ll be responsible for deeply understanding our customers, the systems of distribution for Mercury, designing how your products interact with and impact the other Mercury products and end-to-end system, and driving towards the overarching business and financial goals. You’ll work closely with an engineering team, marketing team, and sales to drive top line growth for Mercury.

*Mercury is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services provided by Choice Financial Group, Column N.A., and Evolve Bank & Trust, Members FDIC.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively discover and define opportunities to level up the craft, strategy, and execution of our GTM (Sales, Marketing, Partnerships) engines

  • Set the direction and define prioritized roadmaps for the team; ensuring we’re focused on work that solves user problems, enables product teams, and maximizes customer value

  • Partner with Marketing/Sales leadership on priorities and experimentation to drive outcomes

  • Independently lead and drive product initiatives for the org

  • Run team meetings and direct product team operations collaboratively with your engineering counterpart, tech leads, and data scientist

  • Work in ambiguity and be able to set and achieve priorities that find the perfect balance between both user and business needs

  • Partner with Mercury’s design team to define and enforce a set of quality and craft

  • Translate qualitative and quantitative data and derive insights that inform product work; communicate these with the team

We’re looking for a motivated product leader who cares deeply about craft and feels energized by opportunities to work across product teams to deliver a cohesive experience for our users. A successful candidate will likely have:

  • 5+ years of relevant product management experience, preferably working with Growth, Marketing, or Revenue teams to distribute b2b products at scale

  • The ability to operate independently to turn ambiguous and complex horizontal problems into concrete vision, strategy, and execution plans.

  • Experience using in Segment or similar customer data platforms, ads conversion platforms, experimentation, hypothesis driven development practices

The total rewards package at Mercury includes base salary, equity (stock options), and benefits.

Our salary and equity ranges are highly competitive within the SaaS and fintech industry and are updated regularly using the most reliable compensation survey data for our industry. New hire offers are made based on a candidate’s experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.

Our target new hire base salary ranges for this role are the following:

  • US employees (any location): $203,100 - $238,900 USD
