About the Role 

Vidyard is looking for a Sr. Manager, Product Design to lead our Product Design team. Reporting to the Sr. Director, Product, you will work closely with the Product team to define the vision and strategy for the Vidyard's suite of products. This role will be critical in reshaping the design team to embrace design-led thinking and become strategic partners in the product development process, while establishing a world class design discipline and team within Vidyard. You will be responsible for ensuring every interaction our customers have is met with an “it just works” experience, along with radically redesigning and reimagining the ways our customers will use Vidyard in the future. You’ll work closely with leaders across the business and shape not just our products, but our people and the way we design and build!

This is a remote role open to candidates located in Canada.

About the Team

Our Product Design team includes (3) Designers that individually work alongside a product manager, a software development manager, and a team of skilled developers. What You’ll Work On

Craft & Quality: 

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver intuitive, engaging, and accessible user experiences that meet business objectives.

  • Design the thing right. Help us make user delight and ease of use a key differentiator of our product. Help the team continuously push the quality bar of our UX. Help evolve and set the vision of our design system. 

  • Facilitate design critiques, workshops, and collaboration sessions to foster cross-functional alignment and uplevel the skills across the design team.

  • Balance long term vision with short term execution. Continuously shipping value that is aligned to the vision.

Product Vision and Strategy: 

  • Lead generative research to help define the future direction of Vidyard.

  • Drive the product strategy through insights and connect design initiatives with business outcomes. 

  • Collaborate with the Product and Engineering teams to define the design vision, strategy, and roadmap.

  • Advocate for design thinking and a user-centered approach across the organization.

Communication & Collaboration: 

  • Present work to executive leadership with thoughtful storytelling to help influence and inspire. 

  • ​​Help facilitate collaboration between design, product and engineering to prioritize design efforts and ensure seamless execution.

  • Advocate for design as a key driver of business success and user satisfaction across the entire organization.

  • Build collaborative relationships with sales, marketing and customer success to ensure a best in class customer experience from beginning to end.

Leadership & Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of 4+ product designers, helping them grow their skills and achieve their career goals.

  • Put forth proposals for expanding the team, including developing a User Research team.

  • Set clear goals, provide constructive feedback, and create development plans for team members.

  • Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture within the team and across the R&D organization.

  • Implement improvements to team processes like critiques and team meetings. 

What You’ll Bring to this Role

  • 8+ years of experience in product design, including a combination of leadership and hands-on design work.

  • Strong understanding of user-centered design principles, UX research, and design systems.

  • Ability to balance leadership responsibilities with hands-on design work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Expertise in design tools like Figma.

  • A strong understanding of the research and testing methods required to develop customer empathy, discover and validate ideas.

  • Ability to own the end-to-end design process.

  • Ability to zoom out to conceptual level design and zoom in to high fidelity prototypes. 

  • Experience working in a squad with Product Managers and Software Developers.

  • Experience in a Product-led Growth (PLG) company.

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally across Marketing, Sales, BizOps, and Customer Experience teams.

  • Proven ability to manage, mentor, and develop high-performing teams of designers.
